Wally West Confirmed For The Flash

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22667:]]

Did you catch the reference to Wally West in tonight’s episode of The Flash?

While Wally West wasn’t specifically name-dropped, EP Andrew Kreisberg does confirm the character exists (will be played by Keiynan Lonsdale).

The episode saw Iris investigate her sick mother, where Iris learned her mother left town pregnant and had a son.

That’s Wally West!

Another bomb is dropped by Kreisberg in that Wally West is indeed Joe West’s son.

Via IGN:

“That’s Wally.” In the comics, Wally was originally Iris’ nephew, but Kreisberg said he and the Flash team decided to make it a sibling Iris never knew about, noting, “We always hated on TV shows that it’s year two and somebody’s like, ‘Well, Cousin John’s coming!’ And it’s like, ‘Oh, good ol’ Cousin John!’ who no one ever mentioned before. It was always weird. The notion that they don’t know Wally was sort of where that came from and then that was the idea that Francine was still alive and then that whole storyline.”

“Iris is now in the position that Barry was in last year – she’s keeping a secret to protect somebody and she’s going to find that, for all of her anger at Barry and Joe from last year, keeping this secret is not going to be so easy and it’s going to be weighing on her before she finally decides to take some action in an upcoming episode.”

First Look At King Shark In The Flash & New Details

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22666:]]

Spoilers follow for tonight’s episode of The Flash

Update: Watch King Shark in action.

Previously teased at in a promo and hinted at early in tonight’s episode, the conclusion of The Flash saw Barry attacked by none other than King Shark!

Twitter is currently a buzz about the brief appearance, and now we learn some details on the Suicide Squad villain’s inclusion in the episode.

The CW pre-screened the episode for various sites where EP Andrew Kreisberg noted King Shark actually first appeared in one of the Flash tie-in comics, and they assumed that they wouldn’t get to use King Shark; however, Flash writer Todd Helbing said to go ahead and do it. Kreisberg mentioned it was a very expensive 30 seconds, and that they wouldn’t be able to do a full King Shark episode because of the costs involved. Kreisberg also confirmed that this King Shark was from Earth-2 (sent by Zoom) — which means an Earth-1 King Shark is still out there.

Via IGN:

A hugely entertaining moment in “The Fury of Firestorm” is when Barry is confronted by King Shark, a villain from the comics. Kreisberg noted they’d actually included the character in one of the Flash TV show tie-in comics, because they assumed when it came to the show, “No one’s going to let us do this.”

He then explained, “Since we knew we weren’t going to be using the [Suicide] Squad anymore and we were talking about it, it was really [Flash writer] Todd Helbing who was just like, ‘Yeah, let’s do it!’ It was a very expensive 30 seconds in the show. But our visual effects team are the best and they really love challenges like this. Armen Kevorkian, who’s the head of our team, got really excited, and it was probably the thing he sent me the most, like, ‘Check it out! Here’s how it’s coming!’ And I literally can’t believe that. That’s beyond feature quality and they realized it so well. Obviously we can’t afford to do an entire killer King Shark episode.” However, since the King Shark who confronted Barry was sent by Zoom, Kreisberg said, “That does mean there is King Shark in Earth-1.”

Jon Bernthal Punisher Rumored To Be Replacing Iron Fist On Netflix

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22664:]]

With rumors of a Marvel internal civil war between the movies and TV/comics division, which states Marvel Studios may put the kabash on the use of Iron Fist in Netflix and the Defenders, comes new rumors suggesting The Punisher may be used as a replacement.

Word comes from Peel The Orange (via movie pilot):

Marvel can’t quite seem to figure out how to put Iron Fist into the equation and time is running out. They’re very pleased with how Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of Frank Castle for Season 2 of Daredevil and know that the fans have a great appreciation for the character. They also know that a Punisher series would be much cheaper and more marketable. They have a contract with Netflix and have to do something. It appears that for this phase of shows, time is running thin for Iron Fist.

It’s also suggested Marvel may be having a hard time finding a lead for Iron Fist, and we can even further speculate if the rumors of Marvel Studios axing Iron Fist on TV are true that Iron Fist may be appearing in the Marvel movies (possibly on the supernatural side of things with Doctor Strange, etc).

Biggest Piece of Evidence That SPOILER Isn’t Dead In The Walking Dead

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22652:]]

Spoilers follow for last night’s The Walking Dead

Last night saw Glenn apparently killed off, which has caused the internet to erupt with outrage as well as suspicion that Steven Yeun isn’t done just yet.

While some of it as best circumstantial:

Glenn’s death wasn’t shown on screen, and the death scene left an “out” for Glenn to surive (watch here)

Steven Yeun didn’t appear on Talking Dead as every actor that gets killed off appears on the episode following their death

Talking Dead didn’t include Glenn’s death in their look back eulogy

Showrunner Scott Gimple teased the return of Glenn

There is a strong piece of evidence that indicates Glenn didn’t die, which comes from the The Walking Dead set located in Atlanta as Steven Yeun has been spotted filming many scenes that have yet to air following the death scene:

As we see, Glenn is spotted with “Jesus,” a character that has yet to surface this season. The Spoiling Dead Facebook page futher suggests Glenn is not dead as they state there have been lots of Steven Yeun sightings on set — more than likely not indicating a red-herring or flashback scene:

We have soooo many sightings of Glenn after episode 3 in multiple episodes. I just can’t see [The Powers That Be] getting Steven to continue to come out to filming sites and stay there for multiple hours just to throw off a small percentage of fans that follow spoilers. He’s even been at locations that were blocked off and extremely difficult to get actor sightings.

What may be going on is that the “death of Glenn” is just more or less hype for the series and this Sunday’s big 90-minute episode. Obviously, the producers of The Walking Dead know how things go when a character is killed off and changed things up on The Talking Dead to bring about the question whether or not Glenn is really dead.

It’s even possible the ruse may have started back in July at the SDCC, as Norman Reedus replied “Glenn” when asked what cast member they would like to bring back, which caused mixed reaction from the other cast members and Greg Nicotero (via Huff Post):

Spoiler Will Return In The Walking Dead & Our Guess How

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22637:]]

Spoilers follow for tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead…(you can watch what went down here).

With Alexandria under attack and the herd split, our heroes attempted to make their way to save the makeshift city; however, their choices were met with disastrous consequences.

While we expected many of the no-namers to bite the big one, tonight saw the death of a major character from The Walking Dead — one from the first season and episode (at least in voice).

That’s right, tonight saw the death of Glenn.

Glenn and Nicholas ended up trapped amongst the herd on top of a trash bin. Nicholas couldn’t take it any more and shot himself in the head, which saw his body hit Glenn causing both to fall into the zombie chomp fest. In typical Walking Dead-fashion, Glenn went out in a gorey-glory, with blood and entrails all over the place.

However, that’s not the end of Glenn.

On tonight’s epsidode of The Talking Dead, showrunner Scott Gimple revealed Glenn would be appearing again, but only teased in what form:

Dead fans of ‘The Walking Dead,’

This is a hard story to tell, and when we were planning to tell it, we knew our friends at ‘Talking Dead’ would be talking to you about it. And knowing you would all be talking and feeling and commizorating, I knew we should say something about it lest our silence say something we didn’t mean to say or not say. So I’ll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn, or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story.

Following the zombie Glenn picture below, you can check out our guess as to what that means:

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22636:]]

Maggie is pregnant with Glenn’s child.

Flash Easter Egg Hints At Green Lantern, Nightwing, Starman & More

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22583:]]

Check out an Easter Egg spotted on the set of The Flash which features various cities time zones.

We see mention of Bludhaven, a home to Nightwing; Midway City, a home to Hawkman and Hawkgirl – both of whom will be appearing in DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow; Starling City, home to Arrow’s Oliver Queen; Central City, home to The Flash; Coast City, home to Green Lantern (which has been teased before), and we also see Opal city, the home of Starman.

It’s interesting to note that the two most wel-known cities in the DC univers are not listed with Gotham City (Batman) and Metropolis (Superman), which are most likely off limits to The Flash and Arrow, but that may change if the CBS Supergirl TV series ever connects with them.

Important times to know on display at Picture News on the set of #TheFlash.
