New Ben 10 Series Debuts On Cartoon Network

Update: The first footage of the new Ben 10 series has hit the net.

THE NEW BEN 10 MAKES GLOBAL DEBUT THIS FALL ON CARTOON NETWORK

Latest Franchise Begins Worldwide Rollout with Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific and Continues into 2017 with North America and Latin America

Cartoon Network’s newest take on Ben 10, the animated phenomenon that had kids all over the world wanting to transform into their favorite alien, begins its global premiere this fall with Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and the Asia-Pacific region (APAC), and will continue into 2017 with North America and Latin America (LATAM). A new generation of fans can expect all the high-energy action and fantasy, along with the heart and humor that made it an international sensation when it originally premiered in 2006.

Building on the highly successful franchise about kid hero Ben Tennyson, Ben 10 will introduce a re-imagined Ben, his cousin Gwen, and Grandpa Max, as they travel the country during summer vacation. When Ben finds the Omnitrix, a mysterious watch that transforms him into 10 different friendly aliens, a world of extraterrestrial superpowers opens up to him. The series is produced by Cartoon Network Studios and created and executive produced by Man of Action Entertainment (Big Hero 6, Generator Rex), with John Fang (Mixels, Generator Rex) on board as supervising producer.

The popularity of the show launched three additional animated series (Ben 10 Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Ben 10: Omniverse); two animated movies (Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix, Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens); and two live-action movies (Ben 10: Race Against Time, Ben 10: Alien Swarm).

A proven success for Cartoon Network, Ben 10 is an established sales sensation led by top-selling toys, interactive and home entertainment franchises generating more than $4.5 billion in global retail sales to date. Playmates Toys serves as the worldwide master toy partner for the new Ben 10 with a full line of toys based on the series and will include a range of figures, playsets, and role-play items set to launch at retail globally next fall.

Grant Gustin Confirms Flashpoint For The Flash Season 3

The Season 2 finale for The Flash saw a page come to life straight out of the comic books, and now Grant Gustin teases Flashpoint.

Gustin took to Twitter to reveal the title of the first episode of Season 3, which is “Flashpoint.”

“Just finished reading episode 3-01 titled JK NOT GONNA TELL YOU YET! I’m SO excited to get back to work in 2 weeks,” Gustin tweeted.

Showrunner Greg Berlanti then responded with: “I’m cool with you telling them the title.”

Gustin followed that up by tweeting: “FLASHPOINT. This is not a drill.”

Update: Gustin also tweeted out Flashpoint for their series will be its own thing:

“We’re definitely doing this FP thing our own way.. I’ve read Flashpoint, I’ve seen the amazing animated film. This will be its own thing.”

The Season 2 finale of The Flash saw Barry go back in time to save his mother. In the DC Comics Flashpoint storyline, Barry saves his mother which altered the DC universe, including introducing the New 52.

Walking Dead Season 7 Rumored To Have Filmed 11 Death Scenes

Following the disaster that was The Walking Dead Season 6 finale cliff hanger, now it’s being said that the show’s creators have filmed eleven character death scenes so as to avoid any leaks.

THR reports on this rumor, which honestly sounds like a bunch of spin (BS), but it’s said: “11 cast members involved in the scene have already filmed a death scene. The Walking Dead producers and the episode director will then work with the show’s editors and pick the character who does indeed die.”

This follows the news that both Steven Yeun and Norman Reedus have already been spotted on The Walking Dead Season 7 set when they assisted with a nearby accident — which means they obviously don’t die.

A major issue everybody had with the way the Season 6 finale went down – in addition to getting shortchanged with who Negan killed – is that news of who would be killed would become known prior to Season 7 when filming commenced.

Now it seems as if TWD producers are trying to cover as fans are super ticked off.

The Walking Dead Season 7 will pick up immediately where Season 6 left off. Want to place your bets the spoilers are kept secret? I wouldn’t take that bet, either.

Can you tell that Season 6 finale still makes our blood boil?

Netflix “Skylanders Academy” TV Series On The Way

Activision Blizzard Studios Expands Pioneering Skylanders Franchise Into Television

New Animated Television Series “Skylanders Academy” to Debut on Netflix

Activision Blizzard, Inc. announced that ‘Skylanders Academy,’ the first production by Activision Blizzard Studios — its newly-created television and film studio — will premiere in Autumn 2016 on Netflix, the world’s leading internet television network.

“Over the last five years, millions of families around the world have welcomed Skylanders characters into their homes. Now, they’ll be able to watch their favourite characters come to life on Netflix,” said Bobby Kotick, Chief Executive Officer of Activision Blizzard. “We couldn’t have found a better home for ‘Skylanders Academy’ and look forward to sharing our extraordinary characters with Netflix audiences around the world.”

The series follows the heroic adventures of the Skylanders team, a group of heroes with unique elemental skills and personalities who travel the vast Skylands universe, protecting it from evil-doers and showing the next wave of Academy cadets how to do things the “Skylander way.” Created by Toys For Bob, the $3 billion Skylanders franchise has sold through more than 250 million toys since pioneering the toys-to-life category in 2011, and earlier this month Activision revealed Skylanders Imaginators, the latest innovation in the franchise.

“‘Skylanders Academy’ gives us the opportunity to approach narrative storytelling with the same level of quality and excellence that millions of Skylanders fans have come to expect from the game,” said Activision Blizzard Studios Co-President Stacey Sher. “We’re inspired by our fans’ excitement for these characters and have worked hard to bring these characters to life with stories our fans will love.”

Activision Blizzard launched its studio last year to create original content based on the company’s intellectual property, and ‘Skylanders Academy’ is the first production by Sher and studio Co-President Nick van Dyk. The two-season Netflix partnership is another important step in Activision Blizzard’s strategy of enhancing its franchises and broadening their appeal.

Produced under the supervision of showrunner Eric Rogers (“Futurama”), ‘Skylanders Academy’ features the voices of Justin Long (“Alvin and the Chipmunks,” “Ask Me Anything”) as Spyro, Ashley Tisdale (“Phineas and Ferb,” “High School Musical”) as Stealth Elf, Jonathan Banks (“Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul”) as Eruptor and Norm MacDonald (“Saturday Night Live”) as Glumshanks. Additional voice talent includes The Diamond Minecart, Susan Sarandon, Daniel Wu, Parker Posey, James Hetfield, Catherine O’Hara, Bobcat Goldthwait, Chris Diamantopoulos, Jonny Rees, Harland Williams and Richard Horvitz.

Sher and van Dyk are joined by Sander Schwartz, the Emmy award-winning producer of animated hits including “The Batman,” “The Aquabats! Super Show!” and “Justice League: The New Frontier,” as the show’s executive producers. “Skylanders Academy” is animated by the internationally acclaimed TeamTO studio in France.

“Activision Blizzard Studios’ enviable mission is to work with our extraordinary portfolio of franchise intellectual property and bring it to broader audiences on new platforms,” said van Dyk. “We’re excited to reach this strategic partnership and for the future of ‘Skylanders Academy.’”

Henry Rollins Auditioned For Negan In The Walking Dead

It’s learned that Henry Rollins was up to play Negan in The Walking Dead, with the part going to Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Rollins spoke with Forbes revealing the comic book version of Negan was based on his likeness and revealed details about the audition for the AMC series:

Since I didn’t get the part I can tell you this. I was up for the role of Negan because Charlie Adlard, who worked on the comic book, based that guy on me and so I was a shoo-in for an audition. The internet was wild with speculation because in the upcoming season they were going to introduce the character. A woman that works in my office put my name and the character’s name into an internet search and all this speculation came up. I went for the audition and there were five pages of really cool dialogue with all these curses and it was beautiful, but I didn’t get it. I later saw a photograph of the guy who did get it and he looks almost exactly like the comic book rendering. The woman at my office watched the episode where he turns up, the dialogue that I auditioned with was in the show and she said, ‘It should have been you.’ Obviously it wasn’t or this conversation would be very different but that happened. I had to sign one of those documents where you can’t talk about it but now it’s over and done with… so yeah, I was up for that part. I get great auditions, I auditioned for stuff like Narcos too, but rarely does anything come my way. What usually comes my way is a no audition thing like The Last Heist or He Never Died that the film’s writer, Jason Krawczyk, wrote with me in mind.

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Gets Citizen Steel

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow is getting Citizen Steel.

Deadline reports Minority Report‘s Nick Zano is playing Dr. Nate Heywood and will be a series regular.

In the series, Citizen Steel is described as a historian whose grandfather was Commander Steel, a member of the Justice Society of America.

It’s further said: In the comics, “Nate becomes Steel/Citizen Steel, a former member of the Justice League of America. The producers of the CW series are being ambiguous whether Nate will walk in his grandfather’s super heroic footsteps but, given the superhero nature of the show, that appears almost certain.”

In addition to Nick Zano, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow will cast a second series regular.

Ciara Renee, who play Hawkgirl, left the show with the final episode of Season 1, and Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold will now be a recurring character on both The Flash and Legends next season.

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 will return in the Fall on The CW.

Norman Reedus Says F’ Yeah To Playing Marvel’s Ghost Rider

Not only does Norman Reedus look bad ass riding his motorcycle on The Walking Dead, but Reedus is also starring in a new AMC series, Ride With Me, which sees Reedus exploring motorcycle culture.

So who better than Norman Reedus to play Ghost Rider as the rights to the character have recently returned to Marvel.

“Hell yeah. It would be a blast,” Reedus said about potentially playing Marvel’s Spirit of Vengeance.“Do I get a skull face that’s on fire and all that stuff? F–k yeah. I’m down.”

Nicholas Cage played Ghost Rider in two movies for Sony, with UpRoxx noting Reedus is a fan.

I’ve always been a fan of the Dan Ketch version myself, hopefully with Doctor Strange launching the supernatural side of Marvel, Ghost Rider will ride once again.

Stephen Amell Teases Arrow Season 5 & Villain Details Become Known

While Arrow Season 4 was uber disappointing, the good news is that the show sounds like it is going back to its roots with Season 5.

DC All Access caught up with Stephen Amell who offered:

The only thing that I can tease is that it’s only a villain we could do if we were in Season 5 of a show because it calls back to what has happened in yesteryear or yester-season as the case may be…

Of course everything is going to change. If you seen the finale, you know there is going to be a whole element for me professionally that we really haven’t seen yet, and we have been in this cycle of introducing shows for a couple of years now. Obviously Supergirl is coming to the network, but we don’t have to introduce Supergirl. I think we are going to focus a lot on just getting back to some of the stuff that Arrow does really well.

TV Line also has additional info on the villain of Arrow Season 5:

• It’s said the new villain will be loosely inspired by Idris Elba’s Wire drug kingpin Stringer Bell.

• The character is tentatively named “Anton Church,” described as: “a ruthless crime lord who sets out to fill the sizable void left by Damien Darhk and H.I.V.E.”

• The casting notice describes him as an “apex predator” who “cuts his way through the shadows” by taking down “the biggest threat first.”

• Stephen Amell also said the villain won’t have super powers.

Superman To Be Featured In Supergirl Season 2

I guess it works both ways…

With Superman dead in the DCEU, the Man of Steel will be introduced in Supergirl Season 2.

We’ve already seen glimpses of Superman in Supergirl, but it’s always been a blurred and real short appearance. Now THR reports The CW is currently casting a Superman different than Henry Cavill who will first appear in the first two episodes of Supergirl.

It’s further said Superman will first be seen visiting his cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) in National City at the beginning of the series’ second season.

“Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”

I’m actually surprised WB is going ahead with this decision following the controversial casting of Ezra Miller as the DCEU Flash, as there has been lots of not only negative fan sentiments, but negative reaction from The CW actors as well. Don’t get me wrong, not that I think this is a bad thing at all. If anything, I am guessing Berlanti and Kreisberg’s version of Superman will come off a lot better than what Zack Snyder did with Superman in Man of Steel and Batman Vs. Superman. I’m also guessing The CW version of Superman will be a lot closer to the Christopher Reeve version, which all the fans know and love. Should be good. Glad they can at least get Superman right on TV.

THE NEW GODS ACQUIRE A SPOKESPERSON STARZ AND FREMANTLEMEDIA’S “AMERICAN GODS” ADDS GILLIAN ANDERSON

Bryan Fuller and Michael Green Serve as Showrunners

Starz and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) announced today that Gillian Anderson (“The X-Files”) will play Media in the upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel, American Gods.

Anderson plays Media, the mouthpiece for the New Gods, functioning as their public face and sales representative, by taking the form of various iconic celebrities. She lives off the attention and worship that people give to screens-to their laptops, their TVs, to their iPhones in their hands while they watch their TVs. Ever the perky spokesperson, and always in control, she spins stories in whatever direction best suits her.

An Emmy®, Golden Globe®and SAG® Award-winning actress, Gillian Anderson has long delighted audiences and critics alike with her versatile skills and classic beauty. Comfortable with any genre, from science fiction to period drama, Anderson will soon star in several prestigious projects on both stage and screen.

Anderson reprised her role as “Dana Scully” in the Fox cult-classic “The X-Files,” which premiered January, 2016. Anderson earned two Screen Actors Guild Awards, one Emmy® Award and one Golden Globe® Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, and numerous nominations for her portrayal of Scully. She also recently appeared in the television mini-series “War and Peace” which aired this past January.

Anderson is currently in production on the third and final season of the critically acclaimed series “The Fall,” which will premiere this year.

Anderson reprised her role as “Blanche DuBois” in Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York with the original cast from the London production. Anderson “[gave] the performance of her career,” as Blanche DuBois, according to The Telegraph.

Anderson is currently in production on the third and final season of the critically acclaimed series “The Fall,” which will premiere this year.

“A Dream of Ice,” the second novel in Anderson’s science fiction saga, was published by Simon & Schuster in December 2015. The first novel in the saga, “A Vision of Fire,” was released in October 2014. Anderson co-writes the thriller series with New York Times bestselling author Jeff Rovin. Her next novel, co-written with journalist and activist Jennifer Nadel, entitled “We – A Manifesto for Modern Women,” will be released by HarperCollins and Simon & Schuster on March 8, 2017.

Additional television credits include “Hannibal,” the 2011 miniseries “The Crimson Petal and the White,” as well as the TV adaptation of William Boyd’s novel, “Any Human Heart,” which earned her a BAFTA TV Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as “The Duchess of Windsor.”

In film, Anderson was most recently seen in the human trafficking-themed movie “Sold,” executive-produced by Emma Thompson and directed by Jeffrey D. Brown. Previous film credits include the Richie Metha-directed science-fiction mystery I’ll Follow You Down, Sandra Nettelbeck’s romance Last Love, the James Marsh-directed thriller Shadow Dancer, L’Enfant d’en Haut (Sister), the second film directed and written by Ursula Meier and the 2011 British action comedy hit Johnny English Reborn. In 1998, Anderson played “Dana Scully” in the feature film The X Files: Fight The Future. She reprised the role in 2008’s The X-Files: I Want to Believe.

Anderson has also provided voices for two Hayao Miyazaki films, Princess Mononoke and From Up on Poppy Hill.

In 2009, Gillian portrayed “Nora” in Zinnie Harris’ adaptation of “A Doll’s House” at London’s Donmar Warehouse, for which she was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actress. After receiving her B.F.A. from the prestigious Goodman Theater School at Chicago’s DePaul University, she performed in the Manhattan Theater Club production of Alan Ayckborne’s “Absent Friends,” for which she won a Theatre World Award in 1991. In addition, she appeared in Christopher Hampton’s “The Philanthropist” at the Long Wharf Theater in New Haven, CT.

Over the last 15 years, Anderson has been strongly involved in many charity organizations: as a board member of Artists For A New South Africa, a spokesperson for Neurofibromatosis Inc., a founding member of South African Youth Education for Sustainability (SA-YES), an ambassador for Survival International and a patron of the Alinyiikira Junior School in Uganda, among many others. She remains outspoken about child and human trafficking and the impact of commercial fishing on deep sea life.

Anderson is represented by Michael Katcher of CAA.

American Gods has been translated into over 30 languages and earned numerous accolades including Hugo, Nebula and Bram Stoker Awards for Best Novel. The plot posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.

“American Gods” is produced by FremantleMedia North America. Bryan Fuller (“Hannibal,” “Pushing Daisies,” “Heroes”) and Michael Green (“The River,” “Kings,” “Heroes”) are writers and showrunners. David Slade (“Hannibal,” “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”) is directing the pilot and additional episodes. FMNA’s Craig Cegielski and Stefanie Berk are executive producing the series along with Fuller, Green, Slade and Neil Gaiman. Senior Vice Presidents of Original Programming Marta Fernandez and Ken Segna are the Starz executives in charge of “American Gods.” Starz retains all network pay TV and SVOD rights to the project.
