It’s claimed that Transformers One, the upcoming animated prequel starring Chris Hemsworth, is “testing through the roof” prior to debuting in September.
This is despite the first trailer getting 55k dislikes on the Hasbro and Paramount Pictures YouTube channels.
Paramount rolls out a new image, poster and a look at statues.
Per the official synopsis, the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie is about the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, sworn enemies, who were once friends bonded like brothers, and whose relationship changed the fate of Cybertron forever.
Chris Hemsworth voices Orion Pax, the young Optimus Prime; Brian Tyree Henry voices D-15, the young Megatron; Scarlett Johansson voices Elita-1, the young Arce, and Keegan-Michael Key voices B-127, the young Bumblebee, with Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion.
What is said about Transformers One?
In there report about an early screening held at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Monday, Deadline adds Transformers One is “testing through the roof in the U.S. ahead of its scheduled September 20, 2024 release date.”
The site goes also into how the audience at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival went “wild” for the film.
Deadline makes a point of stating most of that audience was made up of those who “weren’t born when the last Transformers theatrical animated feature film came out in 1986.”
The site continues, “Without revealing plot details, there were spontaneous bouts of applause as the film ramped up to an action-packed denouement and the genesis of much-loved Transformer characters slotted into place.”
Director Josh Cooley, who did Toy Story 4, was on hand for the screening.
Deadline adds, “Cooley, who stayed in the 1000-seat theater for the duration, was treated to a rousing, standing ovation as the lights went up, and there was excited, appreciative chatter as spectators streamed out of the auditorium.”
