The good news? Thunderbolts is now filming. Potential bad news? It’s looking like another M-She-U Marvel movie.
Florence Pugh has been talking about the flick while attending the premiere for Dune: Part Two which gets released this week.
Among the tidbits she drops is that she actually already started filming Thunderbolts. Watch the video below.
In a related note, Lewis Pullman was asked about Marvel but wouldn’t confirm playing The Sentry. The dude looks in pretty good shape, so let’s hope it works out.

Thunderbolts another Marvel female movie?
Regarding the M-She-U, according to scooper Daniel RPK, the two leads of the movie happen to be Florence Pugh as Yelena, followed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
A fan remarked what he thought was going to be the leads of the movie but Daniel RPK shot that down and offered his own list adding that, “Bucky is definitely NOT a co-lead with Yelena.”
As we see in the list, Bucky is at the bottom along with US Agent and Red Guardian.

Spoiler: THR reported that all the characters die at the end of the movie, but as I tweeted, more than likely, Yelena and maybe even Val will survive.
It was rumored a while ago that Marvel was going to kill off Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier.
On the Dune 2 Red Carpet, Florence Pugh also made it sound as if Thunderbolts was more of a sequel to Black Widow as she revealed they were talking about her next movie while filming but that Thunderbolts suffered delays and is now underway years later. Scarlett Johansson has admitted Black Widow is a feminist #MeToo movie.
Cause for worry?
A female-led Thunderbolts movie could be cause for worry as all of Marvel’s attempts at female superheroes have failed including The Marvels which lost Disney $200 million.
Likewise, Disney also passed on She-Hulk Season 2 because of costs, and it’s thought there won’t be second seasons for both Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel. Sony’s female superhero movie, Madame Web, also massively bombed at the box office and with fans.
A Disney exec has now said Bob Iger is pivoting away from female leads and returning to focus on male actors and characters.
Following all the build up with Sebastian Stan as Bucky/The Winter Soldier during Marvel’s Phases 1-3, you would think Bucky would be a lead character. Fans even prefer Bucky as Captain America over Anthony Mackie as Sebastian Stan. Of course, we all know why that didn’t happen and is also probably the reason why they are killing off Bucky in the MCU.
Thunderbolts gets released on May 2, 2025 directed by Jake Schreier.
The film also stars Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent; Olga Kurilenko as Taskmaster; David Harbour as Red Guardian, and Hannah John-Kamen returns as Ghost.
