Following the news that Fox pulled Gambit from its release schedule, now it’s known why as the Gambit movie is delayed due to rewrites.
THR reports the Gambit movie was supposed to start filming, but the start of production has been pushed back until the end of 2016 due to the script rewrites.
Now with Gambit getting delayed it’s also reported director Doug Liman is in negotiations to take on another gig, The Wall, a psychological thriller set up at Amazon Studios.
Channing Tatum is still set to star in and produce Gambit; however, now THR’s report says Lea Seydoux as the female lead is questionable because she came on board when Rupert Wyatt was attached, and it isn’t clear if Seydoux will be involved with a new director on board.
Fox also hasn’t announced a new release date for Gambit.
