Funko 2015 Comic-Con Exclusives Revealed

Funko has revealed a batch of images for their Comic-Con exclusives, which include Star wars, Ghostbusters, Rocket Raccoon, Captain America, Deadpool, Terminator, The Flash, Dragon Ball Z and more.

No pre-buy option is available this year, so you will have to head to the Funko Booth to pick up the items.

Comic-Con runs July 8-12 in San Diego.

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F World Premiere In LA Announced

FUNimation Entertainment announced that the world premiere of the English dub of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at the Regal LA LIVE Stadium 14 in Los Angeles, Calif.  The premiere coincides with opening night of Anime Expo 2015 — the largest anime and manga convention in North America. FUNimation recently completed principal production of the English dub for the movie which was written by series creator Akira Toriyama and directed by Naoyoshi Yamamuro. 

Actors Seán Schemmel and Christopher R. Sabat, starring in the roles of Goku and Vegeta respectively, will be attending the premiere, which will also feature a red carpet event prior to the screening.  Schemmel and Sabat are reprising their roles from last year’s highly-successful Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

“We’re pleased to premiere the English dub of “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’” during Anime Expo 2015,” said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of FUNimation. “Our cast and crew have done an amazing job with the dub. Fans will enjoy every minute of it — from the first scene through the ending credits.”

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ is the 20th film in the Dragon Ball franchise.  The story is the follow-up to Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and showcases the return of Frieza — one of the greatest villains in all of anime. The new film will screen in theaters across the U.S. and Canada from August 4 – 12, 2015.  Fans are invited to sign up at www.dragonballz.com to be alerted when ticketing opens later this month.  Subscribers can also look forward to receiving exclusive offers, sneak peeks, and other news about the film.

A premiere date for the new Dragon Ball Super TV series has become known.

According to the 28th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, Dragon Ball Super will make its Japanese debut Sunday, July 5, on Fuji TV and other channels.

Dragon Ball Super is set a few years after the defeat of Majin Buu, when the Earth has become peaceful once again, and has been said to feature foes more powerful than both Frieza and Buu.

A Dragon Ball Super manga comic will also make its debut this June in the super-sized August issue of Shueisha’s V Jump magazine.

The latest Dragon Ball movie, “Resurrection F,” gets released in the U.S. in August as well.

Synopsis:

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ is the 20th film in the Dragon Ball franchise, which first debuted in North America in 1986. The new movie showcases the return of Frieza – one of the greatest villains in all of anime. Now resurrected from death, Frieza embarks on plans to take his revenge on the Z Fighters of Earth. Goku and Vegeta once again face their nemesis together, but this time it is a fight for Earth’s very survival.

First Look At Goku In Dragon Ball Super

In addition to the new Dragon Ball Super TV series, a new Manga comic is being released  as well.

Check out a first look at Goku from the Manga as the issue gets released in June as part of V Jump magazine (via Anime News Network).

Toyotarō is responsible for the art and also did the Manga adaptation of the recent Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F animated film.

Dragon Ball Super debuts on Fuji TV this July airing Sundays at 9am. The story takes place after the defeat of Majin Buu. Previous details made mention the series would see foes more powerful than Frieza and Buu.

New Dragon Ball Super TV Series Announced

For the first time in 18 years, a brand new Dragon Ball Z series will be coming to TV.

Dragon Ball Super will premiere on Fuji TV and other channels airing Sundays this July, which will be set after the Majin Buu saga, with foes stronger than Buu and Freeza teased.

The story is set a few years after the defeat of Kajin Buu, with the Earth having become peaceful once again.

“We’ve always used the word ‘chō‘ (Super) with Dragon Ball in commercials, games and the like, but the fact that the series titled Dragon Ball Super is beginning is the best thing ever,” Masako Nozaw, the voice of Goku, said, reports the Anime News Network.

“As I read the plot [of the series] I’ve already received from Akira Toriyama, my dreams for this begin to expand. An enemy even stronger than Buu or Freeza may appear…” added Fuji TV producer Osamu Nozaki.

Dragon Ball Super is from original creator ToriyamaKimitoshi Chioka is directing; with Naoko Sagawa and Atsushi Kido serving as producers.

The new animated film, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F, was recently released in Japan and will have an English Summer release.

Dragonball Z: Resurrection F Biggest 2015 Opening In Japan

The new Dragon Ball Z movie, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F, scored the biggest opening to date for 2015 in Japan.

Deadline reports Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection opened with an estimated $8.2 million across Saturday and Sunday, which is 43% higher than the Fox Dragonball Z: Battle of the Gods animated movie.

The animated film, which features the return of Frieza, opened in Japan yesterday and is slated for a U.S. release this Summer as well as in Latin America and other countries.

DBZ even beat down the billion dollar movie Fast & Furious 7 in Japan.

Funimation has acquired the rights and will hold the U.S. premiere April 11, 2015 at Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Watch: Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope Fan-Film

Check out a cool Dragon Ball Z fan-film above with “Light Of Hope,” which is based on the “History Of Trunks” TV special.

The RobotUnderDog2 YouTube channel put this together and is turning it into a web series.

Here is the description:
