Sebastian Stan Responds To Zack Snyder’s Marvel Bashing

Zack Snyder recently took a few jabs at Marvel (and Ant-Man) mentioning they are bubblegum movies and are the flavor of the week.

Now Sebastian Stan weighs in on Snyder’s Marvel bashing in the above video.

Yeah, I’m sitting here and I’m listening to you and I’m thinking, “Do I want to fire some shots at DC right now, at Zack Snyder?” I read some of those comments where he said something about Batman and Superman, I can’t remember where I read that, somewhere… Something about, “It’s not going to be your flavor-of-the-week Ant-Man.” And I was like, “Oh thanks, Zack. That’s great. Way to do something original.” But I would say we’re still making something very original in our own way. I mean, the Russos are coming in and taking something people are used to, and they’re shaping it up and changing it in a very different way. They’re not trying to mimic a better Christopher Nolan movie or something like that… I think Marvel is very away of its capabilties and brand.

Sebastian Stan returns as the Winter Soldier for Captain America: Civil War and also comments about potential complaints the movie might be an “Avengers 2.5”

I mean, I know everybody’s treating it like there are all these Avengers in it, like it’s Avengers 2.5 or something, and there’s an element of that, but it’s still at the end of the day very much a Captain America film. It’s different from The Avengers, it’s definitely its own entity, totally connects to the last Winter Soldierfilm, and the Russos’ stamp is all over it.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Ben Affleck Agreed To Do Batman Because Of Chris Terrio Says Matt Damon (Video)

Earlier saw Matt Damon mention that Jason Bourne could kick the sh-t out of Batman, and now the friend to Ben Affleck offers an inside look into the casting process of Batman Vs. Superman.

MTV caught up with Matt Damon at the premiere of The Martian at this weekend’s Toronto Film Festival inquiring if Damon knew anything about Ben Affleck becoming Batman.

Damon responds that he did talk with Affleck offering: “I talked to him about it. It was a big decision. He knew what the stakes were, and I think once he was able to get Chris Terrio to write the script, I think that made the decision for him. I think that was… Chris is just a fantastic writer. Ben really liked Zack, who is directing it, so he felt like ‘okay, I got all the pieces that are necessary.'”

Of course, Chris Terrio was Ben Affleck’s writer on Argo, in which Terrio won an Oscar for “Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay.”

Damon’s comments also offer an interesting look with what happened to David Goyer, as Goyer, who wrote Man of Steel, also wrote a script for Batman Vs. Superman. I’ve actually heard rumors Goyer’s Batman Vs. Superman script was actually more of a combination of a Man of Steel sequel and a standalone Batman story. If true, it sounds as if Terrio came on board with Affleck and did an overhaul and rewrite. Zack Snyder also helped Terrio out on the new script.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. Cate Blanchett Said To Be Cast For Wonder Woman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22095:]]

It sounds as if Oscar-award winning actress Cate Blanchett has been cast for Wonder Woman.

Actor and comedian Bryan Callen reveals on The Fighter and the Kid podcast that he auditioned for the role of a Scotsman for Wonder Woman and reveals both Chris Pine and Cate Blanchett were there (Pine has been cast as Steve Trevor).

Here’s the blurb:

I auditioned for Wonder Woman, which is shooting in England. I had to play a Scotsman. The director is a good friend of mine, and she didn’t even call me. I’ll tell you where she is, she is in London with Chris Pine and with a couple of other really famous actors, like Cate Blanchett…

Wonder Woman has been said to start filming this November, so it appears that the movie is currently in pre-production, as according to Callen, they are still auditioning actors for what sounds like minor roles.

Any ideas what role Cate Blanchett could be playing? An Amazon, perhaps? Maybe Wonder Woman’s mother? Hippolyta?

Blanchett won Oscars for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for Blue Jasmine and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for The Aviator.

“Wonder Woman” hits in 2017 directed by Patty Jenkins starring Gal Gadot.

Zack Snyder Doritos Super Bowl Contest Official Announcement

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22093:]]

Below you can check out the official announcement for the Zack Snyder Doritos Super Bowl commercial contest.

Varnious interviews while Snyder was promoting the campaign included mention of:

The Robin rumor in Batman Vs. Superman

Slamming Marvel and Ant-Man

Rumor of George Miller directing Man of Steel 2

INFO:

Doritos Brand, For The Last Time, Sponsors $1 Million Grand Prize In Ultimate Crash The Super Bowl Contest And Exclusive Opportunity With Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Entertainment And Director Zack Snyder

After 10 Years, Contest Reaches Pinnacle, Inviting Fans Globally to Submit their Own Doritos-loving Ads that Could Air on Super Bowl 50 and Bring Fame and Fortune

The last — and most audacious — Doritos Crash the Super Bowl ad contest will take one winner from the biggest advertising stage in the world to the soundstages of the world’s biggest motion picture studio, and beyond.

DC Super Hero fans: get ready to Crash the Super Bowl. Doritos, one of the marquee brands from PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, today announced the last call in its Crash the Super Bowl contest. Now entering its 10th and final year, this year’s competition offers a grand prize with Super Heroic ambitions: the creator of the Doritos Super Bowl finalist ad receiving the most consumer votes will win the opportunity to collaborate with Zack Snyder while working with Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment.  Snyder is the director of the much-anticipated big screen “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” due to hit theaters March 25, 2016.

And that’s not all — there’s a $1 million grand prize, to boot.

“We’re giving consumers one last shot to make their mark and see their homemade ads air during the Super Bowl broadcast,” said Jeff Klein, vice president of marketing at Frito-Lay. “This is truly last call for all of those who not only want a shot at $1 million — but want a chance to jump-start their career in Hollywood.”

Think of it as a one-of-a-kind way to celebrate both the 50th anniversary of the Doritos brand and Super Bowl 50.  Crash the Super Bowl’s cultural resume is mind-boggling.  It is the contest that took the control of Super Bowl advertising out of the hands of Madison Avenue ad executives and put it into the hands of everyday consumers. Since its beginnings, the contest has received a mind-numbing 32,000 consumer submissions and handed out more than $7 million in prize money. “We’ve had a tremendous run with the program,” says Klein.  “The Doritos brand sparked a marketing industry in terms of crowd sourcing. Crash the Super Bowl has played a major role in legitimizing consumer content.”

It all began in 2006, when Crash the Super Bowl invited consumers to create and submit 30-second homemade ads whose sole purpose was to extol their devotion to the Doritos brand.  At the time it was a long shot, with social media still in its infancy. There was no Twitter.  Facebook was mostly limited to college campuses.  And even YouTube was in its wide-eyed youth.  But it didn’t take long to make its mark — soon scoring among the best and even winning many of the Super Bowl’s most prominent advertising competitions.  “We became a pop culture phenomenon in that space,” says Klein. “Ours rank among the best Super Bowl commercials of all time.”

The annual contest, which went global in 2013-14 and attracted submissions from 29 countries in 2014-15, celebrated the airing of its first consumer-created ad from outside the U.S. last year, with Canadian Graham Talbot’s “When Pigs Fly,” a spot about a kid who earns a bag of Doritos chips by concocting a far-flung way for a pig to fly. This year, a qualified panel of judges, including Frito-Lay executives, will select three finalist ads to be announced in January.

All three of the Crash the Super Bowl finalists are certain to feel the super power of the Super Bowl.  In addition to their cash prizes, each will be invited to San Francisco to not only attend Super Bowl 50, but to watch the game from a private suite — filled with Doritos chips, of course. For its final year, competition for Super Bowl air time will be fiercer than ever, with the grand prize winning ad — selected by consumer votes — airing during the Super Bowl broadcast, scheduled for Feb. 7, 2016 on CBS.  But, hey, in Doritos bold style, everyone wins; and for the final installment of the contest, everyone wins big. The other two finalists will each win a $100,000 prize and an opportunity to consult on an upcoming Doritos project— an unprecedented move that will result in all three finalists walking away with life-changing opportunities.

The contest’s grand prize may be the most compelling reason ever for Doritos fans to start filming their ads.  Imagine winning not only $1 million, but the chance to have a life-changing career opportunity with Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment that includes the chance to collaborate with Zack Snyder, the director of one of 2016’s most highly anticipated films.  In addition to the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” Snyder is widely known for his work on action films, including the 2004 remake of “Dawn of the Dead,” “300,” Watchmen” and, of course, “Man of Steel.”   The career opportunity will be tailored to the contest winner’s specific areas of interest.  Feeling extra bold?  Heck, maybe you can even write yourself into the studio’s next script. No promises.  But stardom has to start somewhere.

“Only the Doritos brand gives aspiring filmmakers an opportunity to see their ads air during the Super Bowl,” says Snyder. “I started my career making commercials and remain a big fan of the medium. Having made several Super Bowl commercials myself, I’m really excited to be a part of this year’s contest. It is the venue which always produces the most innovative and exciting work. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.”

Be Doritos bold.

Fire up those computers. Flick on those mobile phones.  Click on those video cams. The Doritos brand will accept submissions until Nov. 15, 2015.   Important note to contestants:  orange, cheese-flavored finger prints on entries will not unduly influence judges.

Ranking among the world’s leading snack brands, Doritos products are sold in more than 70 countries and six continents.   Coming soon to Metropolis & Gotham.

Zack Snyder Says Door Is Open For George Miller Doing A DC Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22047:]]

Recent rumors have suggested either that George Miller is directing Man of Steel 2 or that he is at least in line for a DC movie property.

Now while promoting the Doritos Super Bowl contest in another interview, Zack Snyder tackles the rumor stating he hasn’t talked about it with Miller.

“George doing one of the DC movies? Oh my God, absolutely. George can do anything he wants, in my opinion,” Snyder told The Herald Sun. “We haven’t talked about it, and to be frank I just didn’t know what he was thinking of doing next. But yeah, if I was to think he had any interest in them of course I’m happy to talk to him.”

Snyder continues with mention that Miller would be welcome to come on board.

“Oh my God, [the door is] so open,” Snyder said.

Previously, Snyder took a couple of jabs at Marvel and Ant-Man, and now offers more.

“It’s an interesting question. I haven’t seen Ant-Man. I just haven’t had time. I’ve been so stacked, I’ve been in post, but I do want to, I have an interest in seeing it. But to me it’s like, there’s undeniable and amazing talent and entertainment in the movies they make, and Joss [Whedon] is really good. The question is whether or not — or how — the superhero genre evolves, or does it stay the same? Steven Spielberg made that comment about [superhero movies] going the way of the westerns, and my reaction is: then you’ve got to make a better movie. That’s the reality. I know that doesn’t really answer the question, but the feeling is that we can’t stay the same, that’s one thing for sure.”

Watch: Michael Shannon Talks Batman vs. Superman With Larry King

Recent statements by Michael Shannon saw the actor state he has a role in Batman Vs. Superman suggesting his character has flipper hands which led to all sorts of internet speculation.

Shannon then stated he was just joking, and now Larry King asks Michael Shannon about the movie.

Shannon tells King how Superman cracked his neck in Man of Steel and left him for dead, which saw King remark, “So you’re not Zod?”

“It’s the same thing like in the first one with Jor-El, Russell Crowe’s character, is kind of like a ghost,” Shannon responded. “So I guess I’m a ghost.”

Shannon also confirms he is there in Batman Vs. Superman as Zod, as well as states he did not film scenes with Batman.

“Yeah,” Shannon responded to Larry King’s questioning about portraying Zod. “I did not cross paths with Batman. No.”

Regarding the flippers, Shannon offered he was being a little “mischievous” as Warner Bros. doesn’t want him saying anything. “It was a red herring as it were.”

Zack Snyder Jabs At Marvel & Ant-Man; Talks More Batman Vs Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22035:]]

Zack Snyder is making the press rounds as of late promoting his involvment in the Doritos Superbowl contest where the director has been talking about Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League. Snyder previously commented on the Robin rumors in the film, and now again comments on recent statements by Steven Spielberg that said the superhero movie genre might go the way of the Western, which sees Snyder take a jab at Marvel and Ant-Man.

Speaking with The Daily Beast, Snyder insinuates that the Marvel movies have no staying power compared to the DC characters.

“It goes to the mythological nature of the movies that we’re making,” Snyder said in regards to Spielberg’s sentiments. “I feel like [Spielberg’s] right. But I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they’re Batman and Superman. They’re not just, like, the flavor of the week Ant-Man—not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?”

Snyder says both Batman and Superman are of mythological proportions and again takes another jab at Marvel.

“It’s a tricky process, setting up the DC universe, or Justice League,” Snyder said. “The credit goes to [Batman Begins director] Chris Nolan because he set the die for the DC Universe in a great way that I tried to emulate. I look at it as more being mythological than, say, bubblegum. And I think that that’s appropriate for Batman and Superman because they’re the most mythological of our superheroes.”

The interview also sees Zack Snyder confront another rumor that Batman Vs. Superman will feature more of Batman (which is a no-brainer if you think about it as it’s the first Ben Affleck Batman appearance).

“Only in that because it’s a different Batman than the Batman that was in the Chris Nolan movies, so we have a little bit more explaining to do—and you justhad a whole Superman movie,” he smiled. “But I think only in that way, because you need to understand where Batman is with everything. And that’s more toward the beginning, but it evens back out as it goes on.”

Update: Snyder talks more about Marvel and Ant-Man as well as the possility of George Miller directing a DC movie.

Zack Snyder Talks Batman Vs. Superman, Justice League & Robin

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22002:]]

Warner Bros. and DC are teaming with Doritos for the “Crash the Superbowl” contest, which will see the winning filmaker of a Doritos Super Bowl commercial working with director Zack Snyder on a DC movie.

You can enter the contest here, and Snyder also talked with Yahoo about Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League.

Regarding Batman Vs. Superman, back in June the cinematographer on the movie teased an image of Zack Snyder’s 19-year-old son Eli with “Boy Wonder” leading many fans to speculate Eli Snyder is playing the sidekick to Ben Affleck’s Batman; however, Zack Snyder shoots down the rumor.

“There’s a rumor that my son is [playing] Robin. It’s not true,” Snyder said. “Now there are all these images of him that people have made where he’s dressed like Robin. It’s fun to hear and see them.”

With so many DC projects in the works, Snyder offers he is mainly focusing on three of them, but is also on board to help out with the rest.

“I’m staying with Batman V Superman and Justice League and Justice League 2 — those are my main responsibilities, as well as producing the other movies,” Snyder offered. “That’s the main line. Once you get Justice League, you’re pretty deep in it. But like I was saying, not to be a selfless promoter of our program, what it shows is that we have this giant berth of opportunity with the DC movies now to I think find the opportunities for even young filmmakers to even get involved because there are so many projects.”

Here is the current slate of DC movies:

2016:
March 25: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
August 5: Suicide Squad

2017:
June 23: Wonder Woman
November 17: Justice League, Part 1

Any ideas what roles could be good for Hardy? While not DC, after watching Hardy in Warrior, I kind of pictured him maybe as Wolverine.

Steven Spielberg Thinks Superhero Movies Popularity Will Come To An End

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21935:]]

Are superhero movies doomed?

If we go by Steven Spielberg’s recent statements, comic book movies are to go the way of the Western.

“We were around when the Western died and there will be a time when the superhero movie goes the way of the Western. It doesn’t mean there won’t be another occasion where the Western comes back and the superhero movie someday returns,” Spielberg told the AP, reports Yahoo.

Spielberg goes on to explain his thoughts in that he thinks super hero movies are part of a cycle, and that someone will eventually come up with something new.

“Of course, right now the superhero movie is alive and thriving. I’m only saying that these cycles have a finite time in popular culture,” Spielberg offered. “There will come a day when the mythological stories are supplanted by some other genre that possibly some young filmmaker is just thinking about discovering for all of us.”

Spielberg also previously said he feels Hollywood is headed toward an “implosion” because of the over-abundance of mega-budget movies, in which he still feels the same way.

“I do. I still feel that way,” Spielberg said.

Speaking of mega-budget movies, Spielberg was executive producer on the blockbuster Jurassic World, which had a $150 million budget of its own, and with the success of the Marvel movies, and most likely the DC movies, it doesn’t seem as if the superhero doomsday is coming any time soon.

Up next for Spielberg is the adaptation of Ready Player One in which he will direct for WB.

Just in case you are wondering, here is the DC and Marvel comic book movie list through 2020:

Michael Shannon Clears Up Flipper Hands In Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21911:]]

Almost two weeks ago saw Michael Shannon make mention that he is appearing in costume in Batman Vs. Superman with “flipper hands” which set the internet on fire.

Speculation immediately went to Michaelon Shannon playing Doomsday or maybe even some form of Bizarro.

However, now Michael Shannon clears the air by stating he was just making things up.

“I wasn’t there,” Shannon told the Daily Beast. “It’s a really awkward situation—I’m in the trailer for a movie that I didn’t work on.”

Shannon does confirm his voice will appear in Batman Vs. Superman and compares it to something similar to what happened with Jor-El appearing as a AI-ghost later on in Man of Steel.

“I went over and did some voice-over stuff because it’s like that ghost thing. But I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that. I get very nervous,” Shannon offered.

Regarding the flippers Shannon mentioned in a previous interview, the actor states he can’t actually believe people took his answer as being serious.

“Somebody was asking me about this in New York and I made up some ridiculous bullshit answer about how my character Zod has flippers, and this went viral on the Internet or something and people have been asking me about that,” Shannon said with a “baffled” smile. “That is so obviously a complete bullshit story, right? But people took it seriously.”

Shannon does continue, with interstingly enough mention of Doomsday, offering he would come back even if he actually wore some sort of flipper appendages.

“Maybe they should add it, I don’t know! Maybe in Part 3, Doomsday will have flipper hands. I mean, look—nothing would make me happier than to work with Zack [Snyder] again, he’s hysterical and he’s a lot of fun to work with,” Shannon said.

Man Of Steel 2 Said To Be On Permanent Hold

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21845:]]

A recent rumor stated that George Miller will be directing Man of Steel 2.

Jon Schnepp, who recently released the The Death of ‘Superman Lives’: What Happened? documentary, dropped the news.

Now, however, the info is being contradicted as Den Of Geek is stating a source has filed them in that while it’s true George Miller is in talks with WB for a DC movie, it might not be for the Man of Steel sequel as Man of Steel 2 is on “permanent hold.” It’s said what Miller directs depends on what interests him.

Den Of Geek recently reported on the three picture Batman deal with Ben Affleck as well as the early Batman Vs. Superman screening for Warner Bros. executives.

Regarding Man of Steel 2 being on hold, there may be some validity to it as I was told a while back, WB wanted Man of Steel to hit a billion dollars at the box office and were disappointed with its $668 million gross. When it didn’t do as well as they wanted, they chose to go with Batman Vs. Superman instead of another Superman movie.

There is evidence of this as following the debut of Man of Steel, there was talk of a sequel being green lit, and in lots of interviews, Zack Snyder, David Goyer and Henry Cavill were all pushing for more Superman prior to Justice League, as well as stating Superman was their first costumed super hero and go-to guy.

Obviously things changed with the addition of Ben Affleck and Batman to the scene. From what I’ve been told, Goyer wrote a Man of Steel sequel script/treatment that was more or less combined with a standalone Batman script, which ended up becoming Batman Vs. Superman. When Affleck was brought on board, his Argo writer came with him, Chris Terrio, and did further rewrites.

Around the same time also saw Jeff Robinov forced out of WB, with Kevin Tsujihara taking over as WB CEO.

I actually recapped a lot of this in an article about the Batman Vs. Superman rumors from almost two years ago.

Regarding another Superman movie, when the Justice League slate of DC movies was announced, there was also mention of doing further Superman movies. More than likely if Batman vs. Superman is a smashing success (i.e. billion dollars), there will probably be another standalone Superman flick down the road.

Stephen Amell Says Batman in Arrow & A Movie Appearance Is Possible

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21812:]]

Prior to Stephen Amell’s debut in the squared circle later tonight for SummerSlam, the actor stopped by Wizard World Chicago.

Amell talked about a range of topics, which happened to include the Dark Knight potentially appearing in the Arrow universe as well as the possibility of Amell appearing in the DC Cinematic Universe.

Regarding Batman appearing on Arrow, Amell admitted it would be “tough,” but did state it’s possible.

“In the same way that [Ezra Miller’s] playing the Flash in the cinematic universe – theoretically, we haven’t seen him yet – I see no reason why we couldn’t have our own Bruce Wayne. That’s my opinion; that might not be DC’s opinion, and they’re the bosses.”

Amell has been a fan-favorite choice to play the Green Arrow in the DCCU as well, and the actor has not been silent about wanting to appear in the movie universe. Amell says it’s not like his contract forbids it, so technically it’s possible.

“Whenever I talk to people, it’s like, ‘this is an evolving process,'” Amell offered. “And there’s absolutely no contractual barriers and/or creative barriers between me and being in a movie, one of the DC movies.”

Speaking of Ezra Miller, Miller recently mentioned that his version of The Flash and the Grant Gustin Flash actually exist in parallel universes, which brings up speculation of some sort of Crisis event, in which the DC multiverses collide. There hasn’t been any hints or mention that may actually happen, but it always exists and would make for a pretty cool two part Justice League movie.

Amell also let it be known he has been filming Constantine scenes all week with Matt Ryan (via CBM).

“Arrow” Season 2 premiers Wednesday, October 7th.

Michael Shannon Confirms Batman Vs. Superman Role; Has CGI Hands

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21784:]]

While the recent Batman Vs. Superman Comic-Con trailer (watch below) did reveal Michael Shannon’s Zod, it was only in the form of a corpse, with many fans online speculating that Lex Luthor gets his hands on the body following Man of Steel.

Now while speaking with Vulture, Michael Shannon looks to have confirmed some sort of role in Batman Vs. Superman as the actor states he was on set and offers some rather interesting comments about his hands.

Via Vulture:

“I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands,”

“So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, ‘Where’s Shannon? Where the fuck is he?’ and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, ‘Let me out of here!’”

Fortunately, Shannon had his personal superhero in the “craft-service guy, who doesn’t have the best craft service,” Shannon said. “He was actually paying attention to what was going on. He came over and he opened the door for me. Otherwise I would have gotten fired.

Shannon wouldn’t elaborate any further about his brief appearance in the trailer.“Well, I haven’t seen the trailer either, so I don’t know what I am in the trailer,” he said. “I could be a toaster, or a Porsche, I don’t know.” (He didn’t say where he’s seen a toaster with flippers.)

There has been rumor that Shannon may become Doomsday in the movie, which I actually hope doesn’t happen (I would rather have the real deal from the comics). It’s possible Lex Luthor may experiment on Zod creating some kind of creature (maybe a version of Bizzaro?) that he unleashes on Superman (and/or Batman). The trailer also seemed to have revealed Mercy Graves involved with Zod’s body, which may hint at an Amazonian influence.

Michael Wilkinson Talks New Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman & Aquaman Costumes

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21772:]]

Oscar-nominated costume designer Michael Wilkinson, noted for American Hustle, Tron and Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, Sucker Punch, 300 and Man of Steel, returns for Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League.

People’s Choice caught up with Wilkinson who is in Las Vegas for the MAGIC Panel at the Las Vegas Convention Center where the following was offered about the new Batman Vs. Superman costumes:

Updated Superman Costume:

We tweaked the Superman suit only slightly from our suit from Man of Steel. We streamlined plus sharpened the details of the costume a little to suit the more earthly (less alien) context of this film.

Zack had a great idea to have some kryptonian script [writing] subliminally included in the details of the suit, so we made that happen (update: you can check out details images of the scripts in Superman’s costume here)

Ben Affleck’s Batman Costume:

The batsuit is a complete 180 degree turn from the previous film incarnations — our Batman’s power comes from his incredible physical strength and fighting skills, not from armor. The director Zack Snyder wanted him to look as much like the comic book version as possible — to be respectful to the original source.

My favorite details of the batsuit are the brass knuckles on the gloves.

Gal Gadot Wonder Woman Costume:

As for the Wonder Woman suit, well she has never been seen in a film before, so there was nothing to compare it to! There is of course the costume from the TV show. Zack wanted our character to be a fierce and intimidating warrior — gritty, battle-scarred and immortal.

There is ancient Greek script [writing] on Wonder Woman’s weapons too.

Jason Momoa Aquaman Costume: (note: Wilkinson looks to have confirmed Momoa will be seen in the Aquaman costume in Batman Vs. Superman):

It was pretty hard to get Jason to get out of his Aquaman costume. It really became part of him.

Here are pics of the new costumes (click to enlarge):
