A new rumor has hit the net claiming that Henry Cavill will appear in the upcoming Shazam! movie as Superman.
It’s being said that in Shazam!, Superman Henry Cavill will have made a major impact on the young Billy Batson, played by Asher Angel, because Billy sees Superman as an inspirational figure that feeds into how Billy conducts himself as the superhero Shazam, played by Zachary Levi (via revenge of the fans).
This isn’t the first time Superman’s name has been mentioned in regards to Shazam! as Zachary Levi said the tone of the film fits with the Man of Steel.
“I can’t tell you much, as you can probably imagine, but what I can say is I am just out of my mind excited!” Levi said. “I get to do my version of Big, basically. It’s like Superman meets Big, and that’s just so fun. I get to be a superhero that’s excited about being a superhero, and I think that’s refreshing. It’s not glum, and like, ‘Oh, I have to save the world again.’ So I think it’s all really gravy.”
Details about Superman’s role in Shazam! aren’t presently known, but since it’s a movie about Shazam and not Superman, we can speculate that Henry Cavill may appear as some sort of cameo role.
Shazam! has an April 5, 2019 release starring Zachary Levi as the titular character, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene, Jovan Armand as Pedro, with Cooper Andrews, and Mark Strong is playing the villain, Dr. Sivana.
