He also says that if Marvel calls Robert Downey Jr. back for a return that the Iron Man actor should ask for a gazillion dollars.

What did Rob Lowe say about Marvel?

During the podcast, Robert Downey Jr.’s phone started to ring which saw Rob Lowe respond, “Is that some Marvel shit? Are you going to break some stories here?”

“Not just yet,” Downey Jr. responded.

Rob Lowe added about RDJ potentially returning to Marvel, “You know what I say. That phone is going to ring, baby, and I want to be on that call. I want to be negotiating for you. I know what your deal is. Here’s what you do. You go, ‘I’ll come back and I’ll play Tony Stark for you guys again since you fucked everything up. But I want a gazillion dollars. I know what that number should be, and I want first dollar gross of every ensuing movie.’ That’s what I would do.”

Downey Jr. laughed off Lowe’s pitch and said, “That sounds quite hostile!”

How has Marvel f’d everything up?

Regarding Marvel f’n everything up, it has been said Jon Favreau didn’t want to kill off Tony Stark at the end of Avengers: Endgame, which of course would have meant that Robert Downey Jr. would have continued with the MCU.

There is also the fact that since the release of Avengers: Endgame that Marvel has completely collapsed. Recently saw big box office bombs including Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels, the latter of which is the MCU’s worst performing film at the box office and also holds the record for the worst second weekend drop of any superhero movie in existence.

The MCU Disney+ shows also haven’t been doing well as recently saw the big news that Daredevil: Born Again is getting retooled and that Marvel is revamping how it approaches the television side of things following the Secret Invasion disappointment.
