R-Rated Star Trek Movie In The Works From Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino is going where no man has gone before–he’s developing a new R-rated Star Trek feature film.

Earlier in the week it was learned that Quentin Tarantino pitched a Star Trek movie to JJ Abrams, and now the movie is moving forward at warp speed.

Deadline reports the Quentin Tarantino Star Trek movie will actually be rated-R, which is a first for the franchise, as Tarantino mandated it so, and that Abrams and Paramount agreed to the condition.

It’s reported that Tarantino met in a writers room with Mark L. Smith, Lindsey Beer, and Drew Pearce, that they came up with ideas for the film, with Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) looking like the frontrunner to write the flick.

An R-rated Star Trek movie would be rather interesting as we can guess the language and violence-factor would be amped up in addition to the possibility of adult (nude) scenes.

William Shatner, the original Star Trek Captain Kirk, took to Twitter to make light of the news.

Who is the most iconic superhero?
