While a trailer hasn’t been released for some reason, the first Quantum Leap footage has been revealed in the form of a series of teasers.
The teasers, which can be watched below, show series star Raymond Lee as Dr. Ben Seong leaping into various people.
Update: The full trailer can be watched here.
Quantum Leap jump characters revealed
One teaser reveals Ben leaping into an 80s hair band rockstar, another into a soldier during Desert Storm in Kuwait, and another teases that “history is not set” and that “he can change it.”
The footage includes real-world footage from the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, the O.J. Simpson white Ford Bronco chase in Los Angeles, and more.
The start of the teasers also features the various people Ben will jump into in the series which looks to include an astronaut (probably as part of the Space Shuttle Challenger mission), a construction worker who appears to be working on a skyscraper, a baseball player, an airline pilot, someone wearing a walkman from the 80s, a doctor, another soldier, and a fireman.
Quantum Leap also stars Ernie Hudson
Quantum Leap premiers Monday night on NBC, September 19 at 10pm EST, which is only in two weeks.
Also starring in the show includes Ghostbuster actor Ernie Hudson as Herbert “Magic” Williams, a character that is said to tie into the original show starring Scott Bakula, so look for an Easter Egg in the first episode.
Caitlin Bassett is playing Addison, the equivalent of Dean Stockwell’s Al Calavicci from the original show, as Addison appears in the form of a hologram where only Ben can see and hear, and she is a decorated Army veteran who brings level-headed precision to her job.
The rest of the team includes the non-binary character, Ian Wright, played by Mason Alexander Park, who runs the Artificial Intelligence unit “Ziggy,” and Jenn Chou, played by Nanrisa Lee, heads up the digital security for the project.
Quantum Leap synopsis:
It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project in hope of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.
Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. At Ben’s side throughout his leaps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), who appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear. She’s a decorated Army veteran who brings level-headed precision to her job.
At the helm of the highly confidential operation is Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson), a no-nonsense career military man who has to answer to his bosses who won’t be happy once they learn about the breach of protocol. The rest of the team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park), who runs the Artificial Intelligence unit “Ziggy,” and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee), who heads up digital security for the project.
As Ben leaps from life to life, putting right what once went wrong, it becomes clear that he and the team are on a thrilling journey. However, Addison, Magic, Ian and Jenn know that if they are going to solve the mystery of Ben’s leap and bring him home, they must act fast or lose him forever.
