Neill Blomkamp Reveals New Alien 5 Concept Art; Ridley Scott’s Canceled

If there was ever a time to do Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 movie, the time is now.

Following Ridley Scott’s disasters known as Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, many fans want more from the xenomorphs and less from the androids.

Ridley Scott has made it no secret the next “Alien” movie(s) will be minus the Aliens, which isn’t sitting well with a lot of fans, and will focus on David and how the android(s) evolves.

The good news, however, is that Ridley Scott’s next Alien movie might not be getting made as it’s been rumored pre-production on the movie has been scrapped (via AVP Galaxy). It’s said that because of the lackluster performance of Alien: Covenant that the next Ridley Scott Alien flick could possibly be canceled, which may have something also to do with Disney buying Fox Studios, as Disney would own the Alien film rights.

Enter Neill Blomkamp.

Neill Blomkamp was developing a new Alien movie which would have followed James Cameron’s 1986 Aliens film and brought back Ripley, Hicks and Newt–with Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn back to reprise the respective characters.

Following the rumor of the Ridley Scott movie possibly getting the axe, Neill Blomkamp took to Instagram to reveal more concept art from his Alien 5 movie. Perhaps Neill Blomkamp is reminding Disney about the movie or just maybe there are plans or talks about getting it underway?
