Warner Bros. has released a new still from Mortal Kombat II, which continues to tease the first-ever fight between two of the franchise’s most iconic characters—Scorpion and Noob Saibot.
The image, set in a fiery hellscape, shows Hanzo Hasashi (Hiroyuki Sanada) clashing with Noob Saibot (Joe Taslim), the wraith resurrected from the remains of Sub-Zero. The two deadly ninjas appear locked in a brutal battle, with Scorpion’s kunai pulled taut and Noob in full shadow armor, poised for retaliation.

First Time in Mortal Kombat History
Despite the characters’ long-standing history in the games and lore, Mortal Kombat II will mark the first time Scorpion and Noob Saibot have ever officially fought—either in live-action or in the games.
In the first Mortal Kombat movie, Scorpion and Cole Young defeated Sub-Zero (Bi-Han), leaving him to die in a blaze of hellfire. Now, Bi-Han returns from the dead, reborn as Noob Saibot.

Noob Saibot’s Resurrection
In the Mortal Kombat video games, Bi-Han is killed by Scorpion and later resurrected by Quan Chi as Noob Saibot, a shadowy wraith loyal to the Netherrealm. The sequel looks to follow that same path, bringing Bi-Han back through dark sorcery to serve as one of Shao Kahn’s enforcers.
This new face-off promises to be one of the movie’s standout scenes, first teased in the trailer (watch below) delivering long-awaited payback and fanservice in one bloody “Finish him!” combo.
