Kevin Feige, the stalwart of Marvel cinematic universe, recently shed some light on the intriguing figure of the Black Panther, a role first vividly brought to life by the phenomenal Chadwick Boseman in “Captain America: Civil War.” He also hinted at more to come for the character with his own flagship film slated for release in 2018.

In an edition of Empire Magazine, Feige volunteered some personal thoughts on Black Panther and the significance of his fictional homeland, Wakanda. Interestingly, he mentioned the importance of the character in connection with the forthcoming Avengers films.
“The one is important. Not only do you get an unbelievable lead character, but you also get all of Wakanda which is a whole new setting and culture to explore.
It’s a big geo-political action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T’Challa in Wakanda, and what it means to be a king. T’Challa’s story is very important to us as it links to the next Avengers films, which is why we brought it forward.”
Feige also subtly revealed that the cast for the upcoming Black Panther film will predominantly involve African-American actors, adding another layer of anticipation to this film.
