Following the poor reception of Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman, Justice League and in addition to the departure of Zack Snyder from the DCEU, will Jesse Eisenberg ever be back as Lex Luthor?
Last we saw of Lex Luthor was in the Justice League post-credit scene (watch below) with Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, which was hinting at the set up of the Legion of Doom.
Variety caught up with Jesse Eisenberg and asked if he will be returning to the role any time soon.
“I hope so. I mean, I have no idea is the truth. I love playing the character,” Eisenberg said. “Probably in terms of movie acting, it’s the most enjoyable character I’ve had the opportunity to play. So I would love to do it again. But I don’t know what their slate is. If you have any pull, please use it.”
Jesse Eisenberg also confirms that he wasn’t supposed to have a larger part in Justice League.
“No. I was in it after the credits,” the actor said.
There were also a lot of rumors floating around that Jesse Eisenberg and Lex Luthor were cut from Justice League, which obviously wasn’t the case, and Eisenberg even offers up more of Lex was used than intended.
“No, no. Actually, on the contrary, they added some stuff,” Eisenberg said.
As Jesse Eisenberg notes, the next time we will see Lex Luthor is currently unknown. There has been mention of another Superman Man of Steel 2 movie, but nothing has been officially announced as of yet.
