Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn once again shoots down the notion of Adam Warlock in The Avengers: Infinity War.
While the character was a big part of the Infinity Gauntlet Marvel comic book, Adam Warlock won’t be appearing in The Avengers: Infinity War.
A fan theorized on social media that the location of the Soul Stone was actually with Adam Warlock, which James Gunn shot down as well as an appearance.
You would be 99% incorrect then. Sorry!

That is a long article for a 7 word tweet! But, no, as I’ve said many times before, Adam Warlock is not in #InfinityWar. I was of course not tricking anyone – I wouldn’t do that. https://t.co/SqSw9agVxc

Adam Warlock not having the Soul Stone in Infinity War makes sense, at least from a comic book perspective, because he didn’t get the Soul Gem until after they defeated Thanos.
I’ve also been re-reading Starlin’s Infinity Watch series, which takes place after Infinity Gauntlet, and it got me thinking an MCU “Infinity Watch” movie might not be a bad idea following Avengers 4.
Infinity Watch
Gunn has said Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is the last iteration of the team as we know it. Maybe Gunn introduces Adam Warlock, and he forms the MCU Infinity Watch?
Gamora and Drax could join Adam Warlock’s Infinity Watch along with Pip The Troll (rumored to be played by Peter Dinklage in Avengers: Infinity War), and maybe Moondragon will be introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as well?
Then Star-Lord and Chris Pratt could go on to headline their own movie? And maybe Sylvester Stallone and company can do their own Guardians of the Galaxy movie?
