James Gunn Crushes Darkhawk & Adam Warlock Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Hopes

James Gunn Crushes Darkhawk & Adam Warlock Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Hopes

Earlier saw it speculated that Darkhawk would be featured in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which I pretty much shot down.

Now James Gunn has taken to both Twitter and Facebook Live to further clarify things.

A report speculated that Darkhawk might be in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 based on a Marvel action figure and a listing on Amazon.

Earlier saw Gunn tweet: “The Vol 2 action figures say ‘Vol 2’ on them. The others do not.”

On Facebook Live, James Gunn also added that he felt the article was “not very well thought out,” and that now he is getting questions about Darkhawk as well as Adam Warlock, as Adam Warlock (and Magus) is a part of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Wave 2 Marvel Legends action figure line. Gunn again said the movie action figures state Vol. 2 on them, while the other figures do not, meaning the other figures minus Vol. 2 are not featured in the movie, which means no Darkhawk and Adam Warlock.

“I think it was not very well thought out, because
I’m getting questions about, ‘Is Darkhawk in the movie because of the Marvel Legends figure? Is Adam Warlock in the movie because of the Marvel Legends figures?’

But all you need to do is look at the packaging, you guys, and on the packaging cover it says ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ on the figures that are from the movie, and it doesn’t say Vol. 2 on the other figures. So that should tell you what’s from the movie and what’s not.”

Sure enough, James Gunn is correct as here are examples of the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy 2 box art where the movie characters do have Vol. 2, while the other characters do not. Also check out the Cool Adam Warlock/Magus figure from Toy Fair (maybe they are saving Adam Warlock for the first Avengers: Infinity War movie?!).
