James Gunn Reveals What Groot Said To Rocket

Spoilers follow for The Avengers: Infinity War in regards to what Groot said to Rocket Raccoon at the end of The Avengers: Infinity War.

With a snap of his fingers, the Mad Titan Thanos wiped out half the universe at the end of The Avengers: Infinity War, which included all the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy except for Rocket Raccoon.

Star-Lord, Drax and Mantis turned to dust (Gamora was already killed off), and Teen Groot was shown fading away as well, with “I am Groot” being his last words.

So translated into our language, what did Groot say to Rocket Raccoon?

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn’s reveals Groot’s final words on Twitter: 

In addition to Rocket Raccoon surviving The Avengers: Infinity War, the original members of the Avengers did as well. It remains to be revealed why exactly that is, and why Rocket Raccoon survived as well. Will Rocket Raccoon be teaming with the Avengers in the next movie?

Rocket Raccoon being Groot’s dad comes off as a touching moment. Let’s hope they get reunited somehow in the future.

The Avengers 4 comes out next May, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is slated to begin filming next year for its speculated 2020 release.
