Find Out What Happened To Jar Jar Binks In Star Wars

Jar Jar Binks was supposed to be the character that everybody loved. He was George Lucas’ bright idea to be the fan-favorite choice amongst the kiddies and adults, but was exactly the opposite.

Then it was revealed that Jar Jar Binks was seemingly working for the Dark Side as he tipped the scales in favor ofĀ Chancellor Palpatine leading to the creation of the Empire.

There’s actually a fan theory out there that Jar Jar Binks is really a part of the Dark SideĀ as a deleted scene reveals a conversation between Jar Jar and Palpatine.

Now Disney officially reveals the fate of Jar Jar Binks–he’s become a clown!

No kidding, as Mashable revealed details from an in-canon Star Wars novel, Star Wars Aftermath: Empire’s End by Chuck Wendig, that becomes available on Tuesday:

Star WarsĀ fans will learn that Jar Jar was haunted by and shunned for his political screw-up. In exile he has become a literal clown, performing for kids.

The novel takes place betweenĀ Return of the JediĀ andĀ The Force Awakens and features a sceneĀ set on the planet of Naboo:

A refugee boy named Mapo encounters a Gungan performing for kids on the streets, clowning around in a fountain twice a day while being studiously avoided by the grown-ups.

ā€œMeesa Jar Jar,ā€ says the clown when Mapo introduces himself.

The clown distracts the orphan from his own sadness by popping his eyes and bulging his cheeks, but is hiding a sadness of his own.

ā€œJar Jar makin some uh-oh mistakens,ā€ the Gungan says, explaining why he isn’t wanted anywhere either. ā€œDesa hisen Naboo tink I help the uh-oh Empire.ā€ He stares into the distance, suggesting he knows more than he’s saying.Ā

I’m thinking becoming a clown is actually too good for Jar Jar Binks, eh?
