Fantastic Four Again Gets New Writers

I’ve lost count, but it’s again said Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie is getting new writers.

According to Daniel RPK backed up by DCU Leaks (are they the same person??), Fantastic Four will now have Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber as writers.

The pair of scribes are known for recently writing and producing the Daisy Jones & The Six TV series that follows the rise of rock band Daisy Jones and The Six through the 1970s Los Angeles music scene on their quest for worldwide icon status.

They also did Rosaline, a comedic retelling of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” told from the point of view of Romeo’s jilted ex, Rosaline, the woman Romeo first claims to love before he falls for Juliet.

They also wrote Paper Towns that was released in 2015 directed by Jake Schreier who is now directing Marvel’s Thunderbolts.

Script should be done soon

According to the info, Neustadter and Weber are being brought on board Fantastic Four to do rewrites and touch up the most recent script by Josh Friedman, with the FF script expected to be finished within the next month or two.

Fantastic Four has a May 2, 2025 release date directed by Matt Shakman, so there’s still a bit of time to get things right. Rumors have offered various actors have passed on roles citing issues with the script.

The cast also hasn’t been announced, which is claimed to feature Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm Invisible Woman, Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm the Human Torch, and The Bear‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Benjamin Grimm, The Thing.

Thunderbolts and Blade also recently got new writers, and Captain America: Brave New World is said to be going through massive reshoots and rewrites. Daredevil: Born Again has also been retooled.
