Dwayne Johnson Black Adam Movie Still Happening

Dwayne Johnson Black Adam Movie Still Happening

Last month saw Dwayne Johnson seemingly question if Black Adam or Shazam will ever meet up, which may have led to speculation his solo flick might not be happening.

The Rock happens to be a producer on Shazam!, so if he doesn’t know what is going on, there may be cause for concern.

The good news is that there is apparently nothing to worry about as Black Adam is still happening.

An update comes from Hiram Garcia, president of productions at Seven Bucks Productions (Johnson’s production company, which also has his manager, business partner and former wife Dany Garcia as co-CEO).

“Black Adam is definitely happening,” Garcia filled in Collider. “We’re actually very deep into a script on it right now, which is coming along really well. I’m really excited with the story we’ve crafted.”

Garcia also again confirms that Dwayne Johnson and Black Adam will not be in David F. Sandberg’s Shazam!, which stars Zachary Levi.

“So as we were developing an actual Black Adam and Shazam movie, we were just realizing that both characters are so special that we didn’t want to compromise either of them by cramming them both into the same movie,” Garcia said.

While Garcia didn’t offer up when the Black Adam movie will go into production, she did say they are still tweaking the script.

“So where we are now with Black Adam is we just got our latest script [from Adam Sztykiel]. We’re doing some revisions on it,” Garcia said.

Garcia continued by saying from a comic book fan perspective the movie is going to be amazing, and no worries, Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam won’t be pussy-footing it around.

“Especially when he’s not a boy scout. Especially when he’s got edge to him. Like, he’s not the boy scout superhero, he’s the guy that’s like, okay, you cross him? Well, I rip your head off, and then I move on to the next guy,” she said.
