Deadpool 2 has a new director in the form of David Leitch, known for co-directing Keanu Reeve’s awesome John Wick movie.
So if you have seen John Wick (you have, right?!), we should expect some pretty cool action scenes in Deadpool 2?
That is exactly the case as David Leitch fills in Empire:
“There’s more action in this film. I hope we can expand it and make it interesting in an 87Eleven kinda way,” Leitch tells Empire, referring to the fight choreography school he runs with his John Wick co-director Chad Stahelski.
David Leitch also says he will be keeping with the same tone as the first Deadpool movie, but wants to expands things at the same time.
…four-wall-breaking, sass-mouthed charm, thermonuclear glibness and all. “The completely irreverent tone was the thing that won me over about the first Deadpool movie,” he enthuses. “I want to deliver on what they did and at the same time hopefully expand the universe.”
Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular character, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and Michael Shannon is rumored to be the current frontrunner to play Cable.
