Watch: Robert Downey Jr. Walks Out On Interview

[page_title]

This is a big-time a-hole move on the part of the interviewer.

Watch above as Robert Downey Jr. participates in an interview promoting The Avengers 2.

The interviewer mentions RDJ is here to promote the movie, but then asks if he can ask about RDJ personally.

We see that RDJ gets rather uncomfortable and looks over to (whom I am guessing) is his publicist or PR person (who should have stopped the interview right there).

RDJ replies to the interviewer he has as much time as anyone, with the interviewer remarking they have 3 minutes left on their agreed upon time allotment.

The interviewer then asks Robert Downey Jr. about his past with drugs and alcohol – and asks if he is free of all of that.

The camera even zooms in on RDJ’s face as we see RDJ getting obviously more and more uncomfortable.

Robert Downey Jr. then questions – “what are we doing?” – and ends the interview.

It is a rather d— move on the part of the interviewer. Sure, you can argue he can ask whatever he wants, but these type of interviews are set-up beforehand and used for promotional purposes. We even see the interviewer mention the purpose of the interview is for promoting the movie, and they had a specified amount of time. Notice how the cameraman recognizes how uncomfortable RDJ is getting as he zooms in on his face at that moment? I believe the interviewer is known for being a d—-bag and had run-ins with Tarantino and Godfrey Bloom; RDJ and his people maybe should have skipped this guy.

The interviewer, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, does, however, claim on Twitter they discussed the questioning with RDJ’s PR people stating, “We’d told the PR we’d like to talk about the movie and his life.”

Obviously “life” could mean a whole hell of a lot.
