Yesterday saw the news go viral that Robert Englund wanted to do a Nightmare On Elm Street Part 9 movie, a Freddy in the hood film, or even Freddy vs. Michael Myers.
Now it's learned Englund's words were taken out of context as the actor has posted on Twitter that he won't be returning to the Freddy role any time soon -- if ever again.
"Just for the record, I will NOT be starring as Freddy in any new Nightmare projects, real or fictional," Englund tweeted.
What Englund actually more or less meant was that if he was going to create another Nightmare On Film Street movie he would do/recommend a Nightmare on Elm Street Part 9, a Freddy in the hood, or Freddy vs Michael Myers film -- not star in it.
More than likely what happeend, is that since fans think so highly of Robert Englund as Freddy - and can't see any other actor playing the role - they ran with the news in hopes that Englud was returning to the role he made iconic.
You can't blame them, can you?
