Lucy Lawless is coming to the Starz Evil Dead TV series starring opposite Bruce Campell.
Lawless, known for Xena, Battlestar Galactica and Marvelās Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., will be playing the character Ruby, described as a mysterious figure who is myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent Evil outbreaks. The only problem is she believes that Ash (Campell) is the cause of it all.
Lucy Lawless also previously had a role on Starzās Spartacus.
The new Evil Dead TV series seesĀ Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead.Ā When aĀ DeaditeĀ plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons āpersonal and literal.Ā Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its āEvilā grip.
Lawless also joins Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Jill Marie Jones.
The series is expected to debut later this year, with Sam Raimi directing the first episode.
