Warner Bros. has set a release date for The Conjuring 4, Sept. 5, 2025, the final film of the franchise which stars Vera Farminga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators, Lorraine and Ed Warren.
The film is currently untitled and the plot is unknown.
Some fans are hoping the franchise returns to the roots of the first movie where Lorraine and Ed Warren investigate a haunted house.
Potential investigations from the real life experiences of the couple could include the Amityville house, the Haunting in Connecticut, or the Smurl family, a house in Pennsylvania where Jack and Janet Smurl allege a demon inhabited their home.
The Conjuring kicked off back in 2013 directed by James Wan. The films follows the Warrens working to help free a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse.
The films also spawned spinoffs including Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Curse of La Llorona, and The Nun II.
The Conjuring franchise has brought in three billion dollars at the box office.
Last year also saw the announcement The Conjuring TV series is in development for the Max streaming service.
