Bad Dog #4 is finally here!  Was the continuation of the story of two bounty hunters – a self-loathing Werewolf and his Fallen Priest friend – worth the wait?  I’m a major fan of this book – but to be honest – for the first half of #4 I had my doubts.  Thankfully, the story hit its stride midway once Lou and Wendell dropped acid and began partying in Las Vegas.  At that point, Bad Dog was back in finest form with the perfect blend of high brow drama and low brow humor that fans of the series have come to expect.

I think the first half of the book suffered from both overindulgence of Lou’s personal existential crisis and the introduction of too many new plot threads.  By mid-point, the focus was on Lou and Wendell having a good time in Vegas and their antics did not disappoint.  In fact, I’m still laughing.  The cover – a shot of Lou and Wendell taking a leak on the famous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign – pretty much says it all.

Kelly’s writing remains superb and Greco’s art is fabulous.  This comic has option me as a Showtime series written all over it.  I hope that’s exactly what happens.  In the meantime, I can’t wait to see what happens in issue #5.
