ETOnline caught up with director James Wan who offered details about the upcoming Jason Momoa Aquaman movie that he is directing.

“I think it’s super cool,” James Wan said about the first photo of Amber Heard as Mera in Justice League. “I think Amber and Jason Momoa, in their moments in Justice League, [are] going to give the rest of the world a flavor of what their own standalone movie could be. And that is just scratching the surface of what I plan to do.”

Regarding Aquaman, James Wan wouldn’t offer specifics but did offer some hints.

“I kind of don’t want to give too much away but know this: The spirit that I’m going for is like a classic sort of swashbuckling action adventure, sort of high seas adventure story,” Wan shared. “It’s a quest story potentially in the spirit of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone.”

Jason Momoa first appeared as Aquaman in Batman Vs. Superman and can next been seen in the November 17, 2017 release of Justice League along with Amber Heard as Mera. Both Jason Momoa and Amber Heard will star in the Aquaman movie due out July 27, 2018.
