James Wan’s Aquaman movie has seen its release date pushed back from an October 5, 2018 release to December 21, 2018.
Warner Bros. confirmed the new release date as did director James Wan on Twitter.
“Merry Christmas,” James Wan tweeted today.

The December 21, 2018 release date for Aquaman was originally held by James Cameron’s Avatar 2, which has been delayed and won’t be released in 2018, so we see WB wisely scooped it up as it’s in the middle of the holiday season.
The new release date also puts Aquaman up against Sony’s animated Spider-Man movie featuring Miles Morales, which currently has the same December 21, 2018 release date. Disney’s Merry Poppins Returns opens December 25, 2018.
Aquaman will also be released in 3D.
Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm the Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, with Nicole Kidman rumored as the mother of Aquaman, Atlanna, and Temuera Morrison as the father, Thomas Curry.
Jason Momoa can next be seen as Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, out November 17th. Watch the recent footage below.
