[[wysiwyg_imageupload:1733:]]While many were speculating that we might be getting an Andrew Garfield cameo in The Avengers movie, which we are not afraid to say we had a hand in, we of course now know that not to be true.
However, that doesn’t mean we will not see Spider-Man in The Avengers 2!
Even though Sony does hold the film rights to Spider-Man, it’s not really that much of a stretch to think Spidey could appear in The Avengers sequel, as Spider-Man is an Avenger in the Marvel Comics, and Disney does hold the merchandising rights to Spider-Man.
So, obviously the relationship between Sony and Mavel Studios is a good one.
And recently, Andrew Garfield let it be known that if he got the call — Spider-Man would assemble!

I saw it, and I was blown away. And I’m going to see it again this weekend. I have no problem adding to the amount of money it’s making! [Laughs.] Joss Whedon is a genius, and it’s an incredible cast. I was very, very jealous, and I wanted to jump on the screen and play with them. It killed me that I wasn’t in it, but I understand why, and I’m not insulted. But hey, if Samuel L. Jackson wants to give me a shout, I’m there for the next one!
The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3rd, 2012 in 3-D and is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C.
