Andrew Garfield Wants To Play Spider-Man In Avengers 2

Andrew Garfield Wants To Play Spider-Man In Avengers 2

While many were speculating that we might be getting an Andrew Garfield cameo in The Avengers movie, which we are not afraid to say we had a hand in, we of course now know that not to be true.

However, that doesn’t mean we will not see Spider-Man in The Avengers 2!

Even though Sony does hold the film rights to Spider-Man, it’s not really that much of a stretch to think Spidey could appear in The Avengers sequel, as Spider-Man is an Avenger in the Marvel Comics, and Disney does hold the merchandising rights to Spider-Man.

So, obviously the relationship between Sony and Mavel Studios is a good one.

And recently, Andrew Garfield let it be known that if he got the call — Spider-Man would assemble!

Check out a QnA with Vulture and Andrew Garfield:

Have you seen The Avengers? If Sony would let you assemble, would you? After all, Spidey eventually becomes a member of the team in the comics

I saw it, and I was blown away. And I’m going to see it again this weekend. I have no problem adding to the amount of money it’s making! [Laughs.] Joss Whedon is a genius, and it’s an incredible cast. I was very, very jealous, and I wanted to jump on the screen and play with them. It killed me that I wasn’t in it, but I understand why, and I’m not insulted. But hey, if Samuel L. Jackson wants to give me a shout, I’m there for the next one!

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3rd, 2012 in 3-D and is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C. Thomas Howell as Ray Cooper.
