Alden Ehrenreich, known for the Han Solo Star Wars movie, has joined the cast of the Marvel Ironheart Disney Plus series, and new Black Panther 2 promo art shows off the character.
Deadline reports Alden Ehrenreich has joined the Ironheart cast, but details are slim and it’s not known who he will be playing, only said to be a key role, but some fans think Ehrenreich could be playing Ezekiel Stane, the son of Jeff Bridges’ Obadiah Stane from the first Iron Man movie.
Ironheart follows Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor and creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man where in the comics she is a teenager who steals the tech and for some reason is allowed to keep it. The series also stars Anthony Ramos (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, In The Heights) whom fans think is playing the villain, The Hood.
Prior to the Disney Plus series, Dominique Thorne and Riri Williams will also appear in Black Panther 2 where promo art reveals what looks to be the Ironheart prototype armor (see below). Recall how in the first Iron Man, Tony Stark first built his prototype armor while escaping the terrorists but then eventually built the super cool Mach III armor (and lots more), so expect something similar with Ironheart which is an obvious attempt at replacing Robert Downey Jr. in the MCU.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever gets released on Nov. 11 directed by Ryan Coogler; Ironheart doesn’t have a Disney Plus release date as of yet. Comic-Con starts next week, so maybe we’ll find out more.
