The Batman leads all nominations for the 2023 Critics Choice Super Awards which honor the most popular, fan-obsessed genres across both television and movies, including Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action.
The flick directed by Matt Reeves earned six nominations including Best Superhero Movie; Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, and Colin Farrell each received nods for Best Actor in a Superhero Movie, while Zoë Kravitz is up for Best Actress in a Superhero Movie; Paul Dano could also take home the award for Best Villain in a Movie.
Not far behind is Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever with five nominations including Best Superhero Movie, Best Actor for Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Best Actress for both Angela Bassett and Letitia Wright, and Best Villain for Huerta.
On the TV side of things sees one of my favorite shows, Evil on Paramount Plus, nab four nominations with Best Horror Series, Best Actor in a Horror Series for Mike Colter (starred as Marvel’s Luke Cage), Best Actress in a Horror Series, and Best Villain.
House of the Dragon, The Boys, and What We Do in the Shadows are also tied with four nominations each.
The full list of nominees can be found below.
The 2023 Critics Choice Super Awards is the third annual event; winners will be announced on March 16.
