HBO has green lit a Watchmen TV series, and Patrick Wilson wants in.
Patrick Wilson played Nite Owl for Zack Snyder in the 2009 Watchmen movie.
“It was such a joy shooting that movie, I wanted there to be more of them,” Wilson told Yahoo Movies. “I’ve wanted to play Dan again. I certainly think we’re all more age appropriate now!”
Patrick Wilson admits he hasn’t been asked to return to the Nite Owl role, but is excited for the series.
“There’s never been one conversation,” Wilson revealed. “I’m sure they want to stay as far away from us as possible, but I love Damon Lindelof. I’m so excited to see what they will do. I’d love to play [Dan] now but no there’s been no talk, I’m just a fan like you are.”
While Patrick Wilson may not be returning for Watchmen, the actor is returning to the DC universe as he is set to play the villain of James Wan’s Aquaman movie, Orm the Ocean Master, the half brother of James Wan’s Arthur Curry.
Aquaman has a December 21, 2018 release.
Patrick Wilson also stars with Liam Neeson in The Commuter which is now playing in theaters.
