Justice League Box Office Over $560 Million

Justice League Box Office Over $560 Million

The Justice League movie worldwide box office has passed $500 million worldwide.

Justice League has a current domestic gross of  $197,335,921, with a foreign gross of  $370,100,000, giving it a current worldwide box office gross of an estimated $567,435,921.

As it stands, Justice League may be the worst-performing DCEU movie to date, possibly even less than Man of Steel‘s $668 million.

Justice League

For a comparison of its U.S. box office at being open for 18 days, Justice League is at $197,335,921 to the other DCEU movies’ following numbers at 18 days:

  • Man of Steel: $248.5 million
  • Batman v Superman: $296.6 million
  • Suicide Squad: $262 million
  • Wonder Woman: $275 million

Compared to Man of Steel, that’s about a -20% drop, and is a -33% drop from Batman v Superman.

Justice League

If I had to speculate, it seems the general audience didn’t show up for Justice League, which is probably due to Batman v Superman turning them off, and in addition, it probably didn’t help that the Justice League villain wasn’t even in the theatrical release of Batman v Superman, but Warner Bros. ended up releasing Steppenwolf in a deleted scene shortly after BVS’s release in theaters. I think this shows just how much of a mess things are at Warner Bros. (or were).

Fans have been petitioning WB for a Zack Snyder extended but, but I’ll throw this out there: How about a Joss Whedon Justice League extended cut? We know both Whedon and Snyder were mandated by WB to keep the movie under 2 hours, and while we know a lot of the Zack Snyder footage was cut, I wonder if there was anything that Joss Whedon had to cut as well? I enjoyed the theatrical release of Justice League, but another 20 minutes or so of footage may have made it all the better.

I think we also learned that WB was better off going the Marvel route, which is having individual movies leading up to the big event film.

Justice League

Justice League has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder, with the story by Chris Terrio and Zack Snyder, the screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon, and stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe an Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
