James Wan's Aquaman Will Be Different Than Justice League

Slight spoiler follows for the Justice League movie regarding Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Amber Heard’s Mera.

In order to talk underwater, Mera used her powers to create a giant air bubble so her and Aquaman could communicate. The scene has raised a few eyebrows amongst fans, and now Aquaman movie director James Wan weighs in on Twitter.

Responding to an article about how Aquaman has “heavy lifting” to due following Justice League, as the article finished with: “Now, all James Wan and the rest of the Aqua-team needs to work out is how to have all the characters speak while underwater. There can’t be that many air bubbles under the sea, after all,” James Wan let it be known he isn’t using air bubbles.

“Fret not, no ‘air bubbles for dialogue’ in my underwater world,” Wan posted.

It’s not known if Joss Whedon filmed the air bubble scene or if it was done by Zack Snyder in Justice League, but what is known is that a lot of Aquaman footage was cut, which included scenes with Willem Dafoe’s Nuidis Vulko, Momoa riding on the Batmobile and more.

Regarding the cut scenes, Jason Momoa recently defended Justice League and said they were not needed as the information would be included in the Aquaman movie, which hits December 2018.
