Flashpoint Movie Is Coming Says Ezra Miller

Ezra Miller stars as the DCEU scarlet speedster, The Flash, in this week’s Justice League movie.

This past Summer at the San Diego Comic-Con saw Warner Bros. officially announce plans for a Flashpoint movie, which if anything like its comic book counterpart, will feature an alternative universe caused by Barry Allen going back in time and stopping his mother’s murder. The Flashpoint universe sees a universe where Barry’s mother didn’t die, which wrecks havoc on the timeline–including that Batman’s parents never died, but it was the young Bruce Wayne that was killed! The Flashpoint comic book storyline also saw baby Kal-El captured upon arriving as an infant on Earth and experimented on, and Wonder Woman and her Atlanteans are at war with Aquaman and Atlantis, which has left the Earth in ruins!

Flashpoint Batman

It’s unknown how much The Flashpoint movie will adapt the comic book storyline, but while promoting the Justice League movie, The Flash Ezra Miller updates Flashpoint (via Toronto Sun).

It’s coming up. We are getting ready. It’s been a long process to make sure we’ll get it right, but Warner Bros. is being very careful with it and that’s something I feel really honoured by and it’s something I appreciate. But I’m stoked to get going. I can’t reveal specifics, but it is coming up really soon.

Flashpoint Batman and Cyborg

No release date has been set for Flashpoint as of yet and no director is currently attached, but it has been reported the script is ready

If Flashpoint does end up adapting the comic book, look for the Thomas Wayne Flashpoint Batman to be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and the Flashpoint Joker – Martha Wayne – to be played by Lauren Cohan! The pair played the parents of Bruce Wayne in Batman vs. Superman, so it would seem natural they would end up playing their Flashpoint counterparts.

Justice League has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder, with the story by Chris Terrio and Zack Snyder, the screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon, and stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe an Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
