JK Simmons Open To Spider-Man Return

If Chris Evans can do it, so can J.K. Simmons!

J.K. Simmons recently jumped ship to the distinguished competition as he plays Commissioner Gordon in next week’s Justice League movie.

However, prior to Justice League J.K. Simmons also starred in a comic book movie role for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man as J. Jonah Jameson in a huge critically acclaimed and fan-favorite role.

Marvel Studios has yet to cast J. Jonah Jameson for the Spider-Man: Homecoming movies, so would J.K. Simmons be up for a return?

You betcha!

Speaking with ETOnline about getting cast by Zack Snyder as Commissioner Gordon in Justice League, J.K. Simmons reveals he is open to a return as J. Jonah Jameson in the new Marvel Spider-Man movies.

“Never say never,” Simmons said, coyly. “I had an amazing time with Sam Raimi and those movies… that was a great, great time and huge for my career and my life and just pure fun.”

The star admitted that if there was “an opportunity to revisit” that world, it might be a pretty attractive possibility.

Regarding the Commissioner Gordon role, Simmons admitted when he was first contacted about the role, he wasn’t even familiar with Zack Snyder.

“So we went and met and hit it off, ’cause he’s a great guy, and we were several minutes into the meeting when I kind of saw this quizzical look and he goes, ‘You have no idea why you’re here, do you?’ He said, ‘Commissioner Gordon. I want you to play Commissioner Gordon.'”

Justice League opens November 17, 2017.
