Paramount and Michael Bay showed off around 15 minutes of footage from the new Transformers: The Last Knight footage at Cinemacon.
Eric Vespe, a writer for AICN, tweeted out a description and thoughts on the footage, which doesn’t sound too promising.
Michael Bay said the new Transformers was shot entirely in IMAX 3-D, which cost an extra $10-15m but was a visual benefit he fought for.

Saw about 10-15 mins of Transformers: The Last Knight. I wish I could make heads or tails of what the f— I just watched…

Something about Autobots being a part of King Arthur’s round table, a post-apocalyptic robot world with hero Mark Wahlberg & a sexy scholar.

As usual the tone was all over the place, from dead serious to goofy comedy in the same scene. Aspect ratios were switching with every shot.

I’m not saying it to be a dick or talk down on pop cinema, but I’m truly at a loss how to describe any of the Transformers footage I saw.

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
Transformers: The Last Knight has a June 23, 2017 release directed by Michel Bay.
