A rumor currently going around is that Jeff Bridges might be playing Darkseid for the Justice League movies.
Now it's possible the "rumor" could just be fan casting, but Jeff Bridges as Darkseid might not be a bad choice. Obviously there would be CGI/Mo-cap work, but Jeff Bridges probably could fill the role of being a dark and foreboding villain quite well.
The question remains, however, does WB even have to cast Darkseid this early? If Darkseid is going to appear in Justice League, then it makes sense, but if they are completely holding out Darkseid for Justice League Part 2, we may have to wait a while as it's been reported Justice League 2 has been pushed back to make way for the Ben Affleck Batman movie.
The villain of the Justice League movie is Steppenwolf, first seen in Batman vs. Superman, and is one of Darkseid's lieutenants, so it could very well be possible that Darkseid may make some sort of shadowy appearance in Justice League.
Since we're "fan casting" Darkseid, I'll throw a name out there: Gerard Butler.
"Justice League" has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe an Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.
