Is Harry Lennix’s General Swanwick actually the Martian Manhunter in disguise?
Following Man of Steel and with the upcoming Justice League movie, it’s been a theory put forth by many fans, including yours truly, that General Swanwick is Martian Manhunter.
Potential evidence that Harry Lennix is Martian Manhunter may have been teased at the end of Man of Steel (watch the scene below) when Superman confronted Swanwick about being followed by drones. Superman tells Swanwick he has to do things his own way, and then Swanwick says, “Even if I were willing to try, what makes you think they’d listen?” Superman follows up with a seemingly cryptic response of, “I don’t know, General. Guess I’ll have to trust you.” I personally thought that exchange between the two maybe meant Superman knew Swanwick was a fellow alien – Martian Manhunter – and that’s why he trusts him.
However, a fan asked Harry Lennix on Twitter the Martian Manhunter question, in which Lennix shot down the theory, but interestingly enough did answer that “someone” thought he should play the character. Maybe things changed?
Not the Manhnter but somene else thought I should be. It would be cool. https://t.co/Fa7InYpXwS

There you have it, General Swanwick is not Martian Manhunter. The good news is, hopefully that means someone else is playing the character in the DCEU.
