Diamond released information and charts for September 2016 comic book sales where DC Comics comes out on top once again, marking three months in a row that DC has beat out Marvel Comics with their successful Rebirth event. Find the charts and info below.

Diamond Announces Top Products For September 2016

 

Batman hunts through Gotham City to locate Gotham Girl to help her after her encounter with the Psycho-Pirate in Tom King, Ivan Reis, and Joe Prado’s Batman #6 from DC Entertainment, the best-selling comic book of September 2016 according to information provided by Diamond Comic Distributors, the world’s largest distributor of comics, graphic novels, and pop culture merchandise.

DC Entertainment was September’s top publisher with a 36.53% dollar share and a 43.45% unit share. Marvel Comics was the month’s number two publisher with a 31.40% dollar share and a 30.75% unit share. At number three was Image Comics with a 9.04% dollar share and a 8.80% unit share. IDW Publishing was fourth with a 4.60% dollar share and a 3.55% unit share, followed by Dark Horse Comics with a 3.23% dollar share and 2.43% units share.

DC Entertainment had eight titles in the top ten including Scott Snyder and John Romita, Jr.’s All-Star Batman #2 at #2; Batman #7, the first chapter of “Night of the Monster Men,” at #3; Justice League #4 at #5; Francis Manapul’s Trinity #1 at #7; Supergirl #1 at #8; Suicide Squad #2 at #9; and Justice League #5 at #10. Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez’s Civil War II #5 was Marvel Comics’ best-selling book for September at #4. Image Comics’ The Walking Dead #158 from Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard was the publisher’s top book at #6. IDW Publishing’s Revolution #1, the first part of IDW Publishing’s Hasbro crossover, was their top book at #85. Rounding out the premier publishers, Dark Horse Comics’ Black Hammer #3 from Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston was their top book at #158.

Rick Grimes prepares a counterattack against the Whisperers in Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard’s The Walking Dead Volume 26: Call to Arms from Image Comics, the best-selling graphic novel of September and one of the publisher’s two titles in the top ten. DC Entertainment had six titles in the top ten, led by Jill Thompson’s original Diamond Announces September 2016 Top Products Page 2 of 5 graphic novel, Wonder Woman: The Last Amazon at #2. Dark Horse Comics’ Avatar: The Last Airbender Volume 13: North and South Part One ranked #6. Marvel Comics’ Secret Wars by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic ranked #7.

BOOM! Studios’ Jim Henson’s Labyrinth Tales, an illustrated storybook based on the cult film, was September’s best-selling book. Image Comics’ The Walking Dead Adult Coloring Book was in the top ten at #10 as was IDW Publishing’s The Beauty of Horror: A Goregeous Coloring Book at #7.

Based on artwork for Dark Knight III: The Master Race, the DC Designer Series: Batman by Andy Kubert Statue from DC Collectibles was September’s best-selling toy product and one of the manufacturer’s six products among the top ten. Also in the top ten, Diamond Select Toys’ Ghostbusters Select Series 3 Action Figure ranked #7 for the month.

WizKids/NECA’s DC Dice Masters: Green Arrow and The Flash Foil Packs was September’s best-selling game product. IDW Publishing had two products among the top ten — The Godfather: The New Don Game ranked #3 for the month, and the Arcane Academy Card Game ranked #6.
