As has been previously rumored, Marvel Comics has cancelled Ultimate Fantastic Four.

It’s been confirmed that Marvel Comics is cancelling (or placing on hiatus) their Fantastic Four comics, with the reasoning said due to Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter not wanting to promote the Fox Studios Fantastic Four movie.

Currently, Marvel Comics still has their regular Fantastic Four comic in publication, but Tom Brevoort recently hinted it will get cancelled May 2015.

Josh Fialkov, writer on Ultimate Fantastic Four, posted the news on Twitter.

Fialkov also stated on his blog he is concentrating on working on independent comics.

It probably should be noted that sales on UFF hovered around the 17,000 mark; so the cancellation shouldn’t come as all that much of a surprise.
