Peter Capaldi Announced As New 12th Doctor Who

Peter Capaldi is the new 12th Doctor Who.

Announced during the Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor special, which featured a video with outgoing Time Lord, Matt Smith, as well as the fifth incarnation live and in person, Peter Davidson, it was revealed Peter Capaldi is taking over with the airing of the December Christmas Special.

Matt Smith will return as the 11th Doctor for the 50th Anniversary special this November before regenerating as the 12th Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, during the Doctor Who Christmas Special.

Peter Capaldi, 55-year-old Scottish actor, is known for roles on Cold Blood, Torchwood and was featured as a doctor in World War Z.
