Doctor Strange Box Office Passes Ant-Man, Thor, Captain America & Hulk

Doctor Strange continues performing its magic at the box office, which is definitly no trick, as the Scott Derrickson-directed movie that introduces the MCU’s supernatural genre has now passed Thor, Ant-Man, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Incredible Hulk at the U.S. box office.

Doctor Strange has a current domestic haul of $181.54 million, which beats out Thor ($181m), Ant-Man ($180.2m), Captain America: The First Avenger ($176.6m) and The Incredible Hulk ($134.8m).

The number also gives Doctor Strange the tenth best performing Marvel movie in the U.S., and it’s just shy of passing Thor: The Dark World ($206m).

This weekend saw Doctor Strange bring in around $17.67 million in its third weekend, a 59% drop compared to last weekend (Fantastic Beasts debuted this weekend to $75 million).  

Doctor Strange has also netted $390,000,000 internationally for a current worldwide gross of $571.5 million.

“Doctor Strange” is directed by Scott Derrickson starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen.

Synopsis:

Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
