The Walking Dead Season 9 Preview Images

AMC has released a new batch of images for The Walking Dead Season 9 that offer a glimpse into the future, which includes it revealed that Carol (Melissa McBride) and Ezekiel (Khary Payton) get together.

The pics also feature Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Jerry (Cooper Andrews), Rosita (Christian Serratos), and Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam).

The Walking Dead Season 9 features a time jump, were we see Father Gabriel’s injured eye.

“We’ll explore what happened as man made objects and structures break down,” new showrunner Angela Kang said in a previous interview. “Infrastructure like roads and bridges are changing and crumbling. And we’ll also explore what happens as resources are getting low.

“There’s a fun Western vibe that has emerged,” Kang said. “We are going into a period where a lot of the things that we’ve seen in previous seasons have broken down, so they’ve got these horses and carriages that are being drawn around instead of cars. Things are lit with oil lamps. People are using different kinds of weaponry. There’s a real grittiness to it that I think will be fun and fresh for the viewers.”

It’s also pondered whether Rick’s vision of communities in harmony working together will come to fruition.

“We’ll see our group together working in unity in a lot of ways, but you’ll also see some changes in the way that they deal with each other,” teased Kang. “In some ways, you’ll see that the vision has succeeded beyond anybody’s wildest imagination. But you’ll also see the cracks in that.”

Check out the pics below.

The Walking Dead Season 9 premiers in October on AMC and marks the last season for both Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan.
