The short runtime for Thor: Ragnarok is causing concern for some fans as many think the story warrants a much larger take on the big screen.
I might argue that Thor: Ragnarok seems to be less of an “epic” and more of some sort of fantasy comedy movie.
Back last month at Comic-Con saw director Taika Waititi reveal the runtime for Thor: Ragnarok at 100 minutes as he said:
“The cut right now, I reckon it’s probably about 100 minutes. It’s not gonna be a very, very long film. I think that stories are better when you leave them wanting more, and this film moves at a clip, it’s got stuff happening all the time. I think people are still gonna feel exhausted by the end, they’ve been on this big journey and stuff, so I don’t know if we need the film to be three hours or seventeen hours.”
Update: Both AMC and Fandango list Thor: Ragnarok at 130 minutes (see below). A fan questioned Taika Waititi about the runtime on Twitter, who responded:
