With only having been in theaters for two weeks, Universal Studios has pulled Jem and the Holograms from U.S theaters.
The second week was even worse as Jem and The Holograms dropped 71% to just $387,925.
Over at Rotten Tomatoes, Jem and The Holograms sits at a 20% positive critic rating, with 50% of audiences liking it (still well ahead of Fantastic Four).
The movie has yet to open in the UK and some international territories.
Obviously, this has to be looked at as a complete failure by Universal who heavily promoted the movie and even announced a new Jem merchandise line.
“Jem and the Holograms” is directed by Jon M. Chu starring Aubrey Peeples, Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau, Hayley Kiyoko, Ryan Guzman, Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis.
