Ronda Rousey is serious about wanting to play Captain Marvel for Marvel Studios.
The MMA fighter and actress recently posted fan art of herself on Instagram as Carol Danvers which went viral and even saw the support of Kevin Smith with Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige taking notice.
Now in an interview with ETOnline, Ronda Rousey lets it be known she definitely wants to play the character.
“I’m really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg,” Rousey said, who is starring with Wahlberg in Mile 22. “Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really seriously consider me.”
Rousey will also be starring in the upcoming Roadhouse remake.
“I was pursuing Road House for like two years,” Rousey said. “I really don’t think that any other man could be [Patrick Swayze]. I think that it’s a wise angle to take to kind of do a little gender flip of the role.”
