HBO’s latest Game of Thrones spinoff is putting up big numbers.

In a letter to shareholders tied to Warner Bros. Discovery’s latest quarterly earnings, CEO David Zaslav revealed that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is averaging 36 million global viewers per episode and is fueling “HBO Max’s global availability.”

That puts the new Westeros series among the biggest debut shows in HBO history, giving Warner Bros. Discovery another reason to keep expanding the Game of Thrones franchise across TV and film.

HBO already renewed the series for Season 2

The strong viewership also comes after HBO already renewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for Season 2 before the first season even premiered.

Season 2 is set to debut in 2027.

That early renewal now looks like a safe bet, with Zaslav confirming the show is averaging 36 million global viewers per episode.

House of the Dragon is also continuing

HBO is not slowing down with Game of Thrones.

House of the Dragon has also been renewed for Season 4. Season 3 premieres June 21, with HBO continuing the Targaryen civil war based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood.

The renewal means HBO now has multiple Game of Thrones shows lined up, with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms continuing in 2027 and House of the Dragon Season 4 set for 2028.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Movie In The Works At WB

Game of Thrones movie also in development

Warner Bros. is also developing a Game of Thrones movie.

As previously reported, Warner Bros. revealed Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest as the working title for its new theatrical project during CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

The title appeared as part of the studio’s “2027 and beyond” slate, though it is still only a working title and could change.

The movie is expected to center on Aegon I Targaryen and his conquest of Westeros alongside his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys.

The story takes place roughly 300 years before Game of Thrones and covers one of the biggest events in the franchise timeline, as Aegon unifies the Seven Kingdoms and establishes Targaryen rule.
