JJ Abrams Continues Fixing Star Wars

There is more good news on the “soft reboot” that is Star Wars: Episode IX as J.J. Abrams continues fixing the franchise.

Following it learned that Abrams will be fixing characters such as Rey and Finn, now it’s learned that Abrams will not be using certain characters that were a disaster in Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi.

A lot of fans loathed Benicio Del Toro’s character in The Last Jedi, DJ, with the good news being that apparently DJ will not be a part of Episode IX.

Further good news also comes in that Abrams appears to be also not using those cruddy Porgs.

The info comes from Making Star Wars who claims as of right now, there has not been anything about either DJ or those darn Porgs in Star Wars: Episode IX. The article notes that it doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t be a part of the film, but that there won’t be anything centered around them. It’s further said that licensee sources haven’t mentioned them either, so it sounds as if no DJ or Porg toys will be made, which probably means no appearance in the movie. It’s known that following The Last Jedi, Star Wars toy sales tanked big time.

Gwendoline Christie and Captain Phasma may be DOA, too, as well as Laura Dern’s awful Admiral Holdo. Sadly, nothing about Kelly Marie Tran’s Rose has been mentioned. 

Regarding Rey and Finn, both actors actually are pretty happy about Star Wars: Episode IX.

“I haven’t read the script for Episode IX, but Daisy did shoot me a text saying, ‘Oh my gosh, I just heard from J.J. [Abrams], and we’re back together.’ That’s what I’m really excited about, is Finn and Rey back together again,” Boyega revealed at this past weekend’s Awesomecon. 

Likewise, legendary composer John Williams thinks Abrams will be fixing Rey as well.

“Rey’s parents might be identified to us in the next film,” Williams said in an interview, which references it being said that Rey’s parents are nobodies in The Last Jedi. 

Abrams still needs to fix Luke Skywalker, with various rumors offering that Abrams might be doing that through epic flashback scenes.

Disney needs to get the franchise back on order, as presently, there are no active Star Wars movies being made.

Episode IX lands Dec. 20, 2019.
